I think, if Perry can overcome his current difficulties to become the nominee, he will be a very good president, imo. He may not be Reagan, but he will be good.

Having daid that, I think his obvious lack of preparation for the role has been a disappointment to me. I would even say, since I have a very high opinion of the kind of person I want in the White House, I’m a bit angry over this act of carelessness.

I don’t expect perfection and I know the candidate will never measure up to what I’d like to see, but, if he thought that he might be willing to be president, why didn’t he spend the last year prepping.

All he had to do, to understand the country, is get his assistant to clip out relevant articles from all over the country and read them. If he wasn’t able to have his assistant do that, somebody in the Republican establishment would have happily paid for somebody on Perry’s behalf to do that for him.

And he would have been better prepared.
