I agree. At the time it was very common for companies to settle such accusations out of court. Guilty or not.
I am a female and witnessed several women make false claims or trumped up allegations to get pay outs back in the day.
How about a man & a woman both reaching for the door handle at the same time & they accidently touch each other? OOOOOPS....”sexual harrassment- he touched me against my wishes.”
Some women would & could & DO pull such stunts.
I am over 70 & have worked in a number of places as a self-employed bookkeeper. I have seen lots of stuff that could be legal problems when the law is so broad & undefined & when some women try their best to place themselves into the chair of a victim-—especially when such victim status can lead to a TAX FREE payout.
