Lanny Breuer, the Justice Department’s assistant attorney general who runs the criminal division, tells The Wall Street Journal that he wishes he had acted to prevent the “gun-walking” tactics that are under scrutiny in the Fast and Furious operation:

The earlier operation that caused concern was known as Wide Receiver, which Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents in Arizona ran in 2006-2007. ...

"Mr. Breuer regularly testifies before Congress on the Administration’s policy initiatives and advises the Attorney General and the White House on matters of criminal law. For his work as Assistant Attorney General, the National Law Journal recently named Mr. Breuer a "Visionary" in the Washington, D.C. legal community, and he was recently ranked eighth on Ethisphere’s list of The 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics." -DoJustUs Website

Truly a visionary ethicist.

UNKO, on this issue, a former President should take to the airways to disspell the inuendo the current matter happened also on his watch. Crumble this one and all the rest of the rhetoric spewed by the left falls into the same abyss.

I believe Holder ‘testifies’ a week from today.Bet me he will use the words Wide Receiver and Issa will be prepared to nail him.Holder will say he was confused between Wide Receiver and fast and furious or plead the fifth.

Guess what... the wikipedia write up on wide receiver is gone and filled with a new one comparing wide receiver with fast and furious and making it appear as if Obama and Holder inherited Bush crimes.

The news is loaded up to defend Obama and Holder. The Compost especially...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/earlier-atf-gun-operation-wide-receiver-used-same-tactics-as-fast-and-furious/2011/10/06/gIQAuRHIRL_story.html

The truth that will come out if they try to blame Bush...

Correct, but it does not prevent them from trying to pin blame on Bush. They are unwaivering in their stupidity.

The man is so obviously sincere! Why, he is even biting his lip in that photograph. Who could doubt him. This ‘witch hunt’ must now stop, before more ‘good people’ are harmed.

I know, we can just ask the cartels to return the weapons. They will. They want to be as sincere as Assistant DA Lanny is so obviously sincere.

No harm, no foul ... everybody goes home a winner.

“even the wikipedia write up of Wide Receiver shows NO GUNS WERE WALKED nor anything illegal.”

I’ve read so much about GR and F&F, that the facts are swirling around my head,,,,, But I did read that some guns made it across in Wide Receiver. During WR, we were working with the mezzicans to either stop the guns before they reached the Border, or to have the mezzicans grab ‘em. During one run, we called the mex, and told them the vehicle was crossing the Border. The mex did not respond for 20 minutes, and when they did, they said they “didn’t see the vehicle.” Boss over here exploded, and shut the op down within two days. Big difference.

They want Joe Q. Public to be so confused and think it is all Bushes fault and poor Obama inherited this....The sad thing is the MSM carrying the water for them to deceive. Thanks for your breakdown of the facts. Here is another simple explanation...
