Nine more members of Congress have told The Daily Caller that theyre calling on Attorney General Eric Holder to resign over his handling of Operation Fast and Furious, more than doubling the number on record before the weekend calling for his ouster. A total of 17 members of Congress have now called for Holder to step down.
The latest group of members includes Republican Reps. Dan Burton of Indiana, Allen West of Florida, Lynn Jenkins of Kansas, Trent Franks of Arizona, Tim Huelskamp of Kansas, Mike Pompeo of Kansas, Duncan Hunter of California, Devin Nunes of California and Dennis Ross of Florida.
Burton, who once chaired the House oversight committee that is currently investigating the Justice Department over Operation Fast and Furious, said he has always opposed Holder and didnt believe he should be confirmed as attorney general in the first place, based on his record of deceiving Congress.
I think hes been a mistake from the very beginning, Burton told TheDC in a phone interview.

Do you live in a conservative constituancy with a Republican Congressman? Give him a call and let him or her know that you want Eric Holder to resign.
Gee, no Democrats have called for called for his resignation, have they?
No, and I don’t expect any to.
Not on their talking point agenda...
What if I don't want Holder to resign?
But, instead, want to see his sorry butt prosecuted and sent to Leavenworth for a decade? Or two?
Who do I call, then?
Forcing him to resign could be the first step towards that.
That’s good news. I hope the list continues to grow.
The American people need to call for his resignation as well. There is not enough noise about this from the people.
“Gee, no Democrats have called for called for his resignation, have they?”
If the misledia were doing their job, perhaps a few dims would be shamed into it.
Maybe it’s better that he sticks around so this is still a story next November?
O.K. by me. But, if his sorry butt is tucked into cell 2002 at Leavenworth, he'll still be a story next November.
Seriously, little is likely to happen before November, 2012 -- because the President and his AG hold all the cards until then.
And, after the election, there has heretofore been a silent agreement that an incoming administration doesn't pursue prosecutions against the preceding administration.
But Fast & Furious has been such an egregious assault on the Constitution (and a neighboring country) that investigation and prosecution simply has to be pursued.
People need to go to prison for what they've done -- so as to deter such miscreants from ever abusing their power as these people have done.
This IS "a nation of laws"
And it's incumbent on the next administration to prove it.
