I did not say that all Mormons are thugs. Do no put words in MY mouth. Any organization can have a network of thugs or mafioso, and this is a case where a religious institution network is abused. Ask yourself, would Romney as president be under undue influence by this Mormon based thug network?

A RESOUNDING YES!

Romney should be there to represent ALL Americans, BUT much of his domestic policy time and international policy ( read missions abroad)would be used to apply favors for Mormon thugs! Worse than lobbyists! OUT WITH ROMNEY. He is DONE.

I don’t believe in these kinds of concidences in politics. If these are the kind of people Mormanism creates I no longer consider them a credible religion. My Morman Tabernacal Choir music goes out in the trash in the morning.

I know the temptation is great to demonize every breath Mitt Romney takes.

Cain isn’t blaming Romney, Cain is blaming Perry.

Frankly, I don’t know who leaked this crap about Cain—but so far it appears to be giving Cain a lot of attention and support.

Maybe we should wait until we know for sure who did this, if we ever will know.

I did not say that all Mormons are thugs, so there is no record to correct. I suspect that it was a simple statement of sensitivity.” For the record...

This is a serious issue about Romney, and we have a Congress which is completely stalled from making needed policy decisions on behalf of the nation because of special interest lobbyists. We do not need a president who is simply “more the same” or far worse.

No need to be befuddled, and have a good evening. This incident of attempting to destroy Cain will draw Cain many more suporters and reveals the danger that Romney represents to the office of president.Notice how the press has somehow “missed” the issue?

The real winner in all this is HUSSEIN.

We need to refocus our energy on the real enemy. And the real enemy isn't Perry or Romney or Huntsman or Meghan McCain or even Ron Paul. The real enemy is Hussein.

Time to bring out Larry Sinclair. That will shut them up right quick.

I agree that I’m tired of seeing Romney blamed for this. Cain knows exactly who did this and he and his campaign manager came out hard today against Perry. We can keep sitting here and pretending this is all Romney’s fault, but that is delusional IMO.

This has classic Lyndon Johnson Texas dirty trick written all over it. That said I’m glad this came out now versus next October. Cain has to be tested and he is now getting tested.

My only problem is I now don’t have any candidate I feel very good about. Newt may be my guy by default perhaps.

"I did not say that all Mormons are thugs...>i>

And I did not state that you did.

You need to read my profile page...halfway down the page I have held one of your comments for years in an honorary position. Again, it's baffling to me that you would think that I would accuse you. Where is this coming from?

JUST PASSING THE BATON FROM ONE TO OTHER!

U.S. Muslims and Mormons share deepening ties

excerpt:

The Mormon Church has to be among the most outgoing on earth; in recent years its leaders have reached out to, among others, Latinos, Koreans, Catholics and Jews.

One of the most enthusiastic responses, however, has come from what some might consider a surprising source: U.S. Muslims.

“We are very aware of the history of Mormons as a group that was chastised in America,” says Maher Hathout, a senior advisor to the Muslim Public Affairs Council in Los Angeles. “They can be a good model for any group that feels alienated.”

Which perhaps explains an open-mosque day held last fall at the Islamic Center of Irvine. More than half the guests were Mormons.

“A Mormon living in an Islamic society would be very comfortable,” said Steve Young, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints attending the event.

The sentiment is echoed by Muslims. “When I go to a Mormon church I feel at ease,” said Haitham Bundakji, former chairman of the Islamic Society of Orange County. “When I heard the president [of LDS] speak a few years ago, if I’d closed my eyes I’d have thought he was an imam.”

Though the relationship has raised eyebrows and provided ammunition for critics of both religions, Mormons and Muslims have deepening ties in the United States.

I just want to make sure that anyone reading this thread knows that I do not in any way regard all Mormons as thugs.

This is a serious issue aout Romney, and I do not want to be dismissed as just another religious zealot using this incident to bash the Mormon religion, which can well do without its “thugs,” IMHO.

Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate them very much.

Great post Fred....very cogent information on the gradual erosion of liberty by allowing religion into the arena of politics.....there is no place for it.

Obama meets with top Mormon leader

President Barack Obama was presented with five large leather-bound volumes today by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that detail his family history going back multiple generations covering hundreds of years. The presentation was made by Church President Thomas S. Monson and Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. They were accompanied by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, who is also a member of the Church.

President Monson said: 'President Obama’s heritage is rich with examples of leadership, sacrifice and service. We were very pleased to research his family history and are honored to present it to him today.'

Elder Oaks, who oversees the Church’s family history program, said, 'The Church has great resources and experience in genealogy work, and we are proud to have researched such a unique and impressive family history.'

Get the ‘picture’ ? Zero hasn’t a hope in h*ll, so the baton gets passed to someone whose ‘religion’ is sympathetic.

LOL. Yes. Eggshells.

IMHO this is a big issue, and its really about Romney, not Cain or Perry.....I wish the press would interview Richard Marriot.

This goes something like his , from Richard Marriot to a Perry Superpac pollster (Chris Wilson),

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2801741/posts

then to Rahm Emanual, then to Politico, with Romney pulling the strings with Richard Marriot and having a layer of plausible deniability while he watches Cain and Perry destroy one another in the press.

Someone in the press hould be shouting this Richard Marriot /Mormon/Romney connection.

I agree with your conclusion also Fred. This attempt to assassinate Cain’s character has Romney all over it.And Romney/Marriot should be called on it.

You’re exactly right.

The Cain people who are jumping all over Perry fail to see that Mittens and his people (like Rove) are just standing back, aloof and above all this, just watching the “second tier” people take each other out. Perry appears pretty much done for, and by inducing Cain and his people to go after Perry, Romney doesn’t have to so much as lift a bejeweled finger.

This is another sign that Rove is all over this. Rove is a scheming SOB who is good... fiendishly good... at this stuff. And he’s tied in with all manner of press outlets and reporters in DC, who are always looking to be “in” on the action. All he had to do was make two phone calls: The first to plant the story in time for the Sunday yapping head shows, and then another call to point it at the Perry campaign. Never mind sourcing it. The press will print anything these days.

All that said, I am becoming more firmly convinced as I talk to more and more conservatives who are paying attention, that if Romney is the nominee, the GOP loses the general election. A whole lot of people just. will. not. vote. for. Romney. I’m one of them. If Romney were standing in front of me, on fire, I wouldn’t piss on the man to put out the flames.

Romney’s support in this primary season hasn’t really gotten above 27%, and he’s looking to win not by acclimation, but by being the “last man standing” in an “election by attrition.” That sounds like a brilliant strategy to the Romney campaign, who think that Republicans will “just get in line” because they hate Obama more than they hate Romney, but I think that people are so pissed off at the political hacks in DC.... that Romney is making a very unfounded assumption.
