Joel P. Bennett, the lawyer for one of the women who has made accusations against Mr. Cain, said that his client had decided not to go public or to make a public statement herself in an effort to shield herself from the media frenzy swirling around the situation.

“She’s not going to affirmatively make any public statements or public appearances about the case, everything will be through me,” Mr. Bennett said. “She has a life to live and a career, and she doesn’t want to become another Anita Hill.”

I doubt her name will remain secret for long. That said, she is smart to at least attempt to stay out of the fray. Her life will never be the same once she has the rat media camped out on her front lawn.

I think NPR was dropping hints today that they would either try to get two birds with one stone, or else shift their focus to a different Republican. They were certainly starting to ask the question: "What kind of sleazy Republican would spread such terrible, baseless, and scurrilous rumors about Herman Cain????"

Give the media credit: they know how to turn anything that happens in the world into some kind of argument against a Republican with national standing.

Now there is some putz from an Iowa radio station claiming Cain may have said something to someone he can't name and won't repeat what was said but we should believe him when he says it was awkward. WTF? The guy's name is Deace.

I knew that from the first ~ this was 12 years ago. The only records he would keep would be financial in nature and only for 7 years ~ these lawyers pay rent for space ~ unless they have a notorious case they don't keep that stuff.
