Memo to Canadian Occupiers: Go south
QMI Agency via Sun Media via Toronto Sun ^ | 2011-11-03 | Eric Duhaime

MONTREAL - Over the past few weeks, leftist activists invaded public spaces in all major cities across Canada, beginning in downtown Toronto. Their actions were inspired by the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) encampment in Zucotti Park. There are, however, a few differences.

American protesters are outraged by:

None of these problems currently affect Canadians. So why don’t those so-called indignant ones run off to the U.S.? Do they want to Americanize our society or what? In fact, those dubbed indignant do not represent the 99% they pretend to. They are practically all part of the 1% of the most extreme leftist ideologues who make the NDP look like right-wing nuts.

They imported the OWS protest purely to advance their totalitarian ideas. They are currently trying to install themselves permanently in our public parks everywhere in the country. They are building camps so that they can spend a warm winter.

In Montreal, they constructed a teepee and a wooden platform to protect themselves against the dampness from the ground. In Quebec City, the municipality overrode bylaws to allow them to build campfires. The mayor, Regis Labeaume, is even considering supplying electricity to improve their comfort and provide them with power to recharge their computers. And guess who will pay to clean up the mess when this “Occupy wherever” joke is over? It’s obviously you, taxpayers.

Worse, some of the food provided freely comes from local food banks. Yes, you read it right. Those indignant ones have hijacked food from the most needy in our society. Life is grand when you’ve got others to pay the tab. To all other groups in Canada, don’t even think about illegally occupying a park, stealing the lunch of the homeless, lighting campfires in public spaces, building a shelter on a field you don’t own or connecting yourself to public utilities without paying a penny.

We only tolerate such behaviour from tramps. And I am not referring only to what the agitators wear or their hygiene. In Canada, we have a word for an ideological maladjusted person who eats at food banks, doesn’t work and has no place of residence.

A tramp is a tramp is a tramp.

Canada also doesn’t/didn’t have Frank or Dodd and doesn’t have Fannie and Freddie underwriting bad loans.

IIRC, mortgage interest isn’t deductible there ,either.(yet people still buy homes)

I'm no fan of illegal aliens, but if we get to do the selection, I'd be in favor of giving a green card to one illegal for every damn hippie permanently relocated to Mexico.

The hippies would be closer to their dope suppliers as well.

Of course, a lot of that is because they live under an American nuclear shield that is pretty much free-of-charge. Yes, they fight beside us in Afghanistan, etc., but nuclear weapons & their delivery systems are expensive. If Canada sat on top of Russia, China or the Middle East, I think things would be different, eh?

That's how it is here too. These anarchists are the same everywhere.

Swim south. That way, we won’t have to smell them as they pass by.

“I’d be in favor of giving a green card to one illegal for every damn hippie permanently relocated to Mexico.”

I would up the offer to 10 to 1.

Although I’m not in favor of people coming here illegally, I place 99% of the blame on us not them. For the most part they’re decent hardworking people, unlike the trash littering our parks.

Why Canada’s Housing Market Didn’t Crash

http://www.cnbc.com/id/38017232

“Nobody stopped a Canadian bank from lending in the subprime market, they chose not to,” says CIBC’s Benjamin Tal. “It was not the government, it was not monetary policy; there were no regulations whatsoever regarding how much you can lend in the subprime market. Canadian bankers decided not to do so, because it was too risky.”
But the democrats claim that the problem was Bush eliminating the regulations that “protected us” (though they never seem to be able to cite a single regulation that he eliminated).
