Perry Claims He Can Secure Border in One Year as President
Fox ^ | November 3, 2011 | Hannity interviews Gov. Rick Perry

Posted on 11/03/2011 8:46:48 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

....PERRY: Well, let me just put it this way. The federal government's complete and absolute failure to secure our border put a lot of pressure on governors no matter where they might be to have to deal with issues. You are required to give health care, you are required to give education. And Texans made a decision -- are we going to kick these people to the side of the road and they are going to become tax wasters? Or are we going to require that they become citizens of the United States and become taxpayers? We chose the latter. I would still do that today, considering the barriers that if you will, the arena that we have to work in.

As the president of the United States, I am against the DREAM Act. I will shut that border down because I have had to deal with it for 10 years. I understand. I am putting Texas Rangers and National Guard, I am putting Texas citizens on the line over there, they are being fired at. Thank God none of them have been killed yet. But the fact is, I know how to secure that border. When I am the president, that border will be secure. And these issues that we have been forced to deal with as governors, will start being alleviated. And then we can have a decent, a thoughtful and economically focused conversation about immigration policy.

HANNITY: So you think you could secure the border in what period of time if you're president?

PERRY: I think you can do it within a year. I mean, seriously, within a year --

I am counting on him! I do believe he is the candidate that will make the border one of the first issues to be tackled.

I want that border secured yesterday...

It’d be pretty easy. End all the benefits that illegals get.

No more bilingual education... or any education. No medical service without cash in hand. No food stamps, no low-income housing.

Nothing.

Most will leave of their own accord. And most of those considering a trip across the border would think again.

If you need to send your kid to Houston Community College, have your kid move to Texas and establish residency for ONE year.

If you are Mexican, you’ll need to sneak across the border before your kid is in 10th grade and enroll that kid in a Texas high school. Once your kid is graduated, you’ll need to go down to the INS and put the kid on a path to citizenship. Then, and only then, your kid can get in-state tuition.

See the difference?

He already told Vincente Fox that he shared his desire for open borders.

Read the interview.

How's he gonna' do it? Using the illegal aliens he's let go to college at state rates?

Sorry, Perry, you lost my vote as soon as I found out about the kid-glove treatment of illegal aliens, and I also didn't appreciate being called names because I objected.

Better that you would've vetoed the measure, let them over-ride your veto, and stand firm to say NO. But you caved! Tah, Tah, Goombah!

There really needs to be an honest national debate on immigration reform.

Oh Gezzzz...Shoot us now!

WTF man!...Americans have been screaming, voting, debating, protesting, demanding, picketing, and begging for relief from this epic country killing violent invasion for 20 GD years...

And now you want an honest debate?

Why don’t you watch the video. You can continue to do hit and run jobs but people are starting to see through the lies. What Perry says makes sense and is the way to go after the problem. Shoot, you in California HAVE a fence and just this morning they pulled tones of people out of a tunnel that was running under it.

That fence you mentioned in California, decreased illegal alien traffic around 90% where it was installed.

What's your point again?

I'm wondering if his cocktail hour includes jack daniels and Oxycontin.

The only immigration reform that I want is the end of anchor babies, chain migration, lotteries, etc., and the expansion of visas for the intellectually accomplished.

Most of what I want is the rigorous enforcement of the laws we have.

How? With people, that’s how.

I remember how Texas was the only state I ever found law enforcement actually conducting roadblocks and checking every single car for illegals.

The Perrywinkles keep talking about illegals going down to the federal office building and getting on “the path to citizenship” or some such. Anyone have a link to where an illegal alien begins this supposed process? Or is it just a made-up construct to cover Ricardo’s tail?

Did it ever occur to you that he did get elected to governor that many times because he is good for the state and would be great for the country..

Yeah, if you're a stinking illegal alien! What's the matter with you? If you snuggle up to illegalities, what's to stop you from continuing in the White House.

All he had to do was VETO the stupid bill, let the idiots override it, and then hold firm! Do you mean that governing by consensus is acceptable? I thought there was a clear right/wrong here: You're either an illegal alien entitled to NO favors and should get the hell out of here, or you're a LEGAL alien and will be welcomed.

I want nothing to do with the alien-friendly loser . . . nothing.
