In the past I’ve been able to communicate with you on a reasonable level...are you on something you’ve got such a bug up your tail?

If these were lawsuit settlements, the court documents would be public record. Where is the evidence of any of these women taking the NRA to court?

Herman Cain accuser got $45,000 settlement
CAIN: "“The one I remember and am aware of and was a financial settlement and it was somewhere in the vicinity of three to six months’ severance pay, something of that nature.”
Who to believe, "editor-surveyor", or Herman Cain, Presidential Candidate. That's a hard one.

More information from that link:

one of the women who accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment at the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s received a payout of about $45,000 as part of her settlement — significantly more than the two or three months’ salary Cain initially recalled the woman obtained.
...
It was also more than the payout a second association employee received after complaining about Cain’s behavior. According to The New York Times, the second woman received $35,000 — a year’s pay.
Here's more of the details about the 2nd woman: Herman Cain accuser paid 35,000 sexual harrassment settlement:
Citing three people it said had direct knowledge of the matter, the newspaper reported Tuesday the National Restaurant Association paid the woman a year's salary...

The payment was one of two involving women who leveled sexual harassment charges against Cain, who leads the Republican presidential field in numerous polls.

I'm with all of you regarding the harrassment charges. But I don't see the point of denying the facts of the matter, when even Cain has admitted to them.

If these were lawsuit settlements

Who said anything about a lawsuit? Is that what you all are confused about? Nobody said these were former legal settlements of lawsuits.

Damn. Have we spent all this time arguing over what the meaning of "is" is?

If that's all your problem is, I'll be happy to stipulate for you that the women did not file lawsuits, and that they did not settle lawsuits, and that what they did was reach an AGREEMENT with the association which was put in writing which offered the women money in exchange for leaving the association and promising not to pursue the matter further or discuss the details of the matter or the settlement.

If you want to argue that this is not a "settlement" (even though one definition of "settlement" is an agreement, and Cain has called it both a "financial settlement" and a "termination settlement"), I guess you can make up whatever definitions you like for it. But don't confuse everybody by arguing there were no "settlements" when you should know what everybody is talking about.
