AUDIO -- Herman Cain in March: No skeletons in my closet
The Daily Caller ^ | 11/03/2011 | Matt Lewis

Posted on 11/03/2011 11:23:23 AM PDT by martosko

Seeking to woo skeptical conservative bloggers during a March 2011 conference call, Herman Cain pushed back hard against the notion that opposition research might turn up skeletons in his closet.

Asked directly about negative information that might arise from opposition research, Cain never revealed the sexual harassment allegations he had known about for more than a decade, instead joking about his golf game — and aggressively insisting there was nothing to worry about.

“I don’t have any of those kind of skeletons in my closet,” he assured the conservative bloggers. “And what I have told people [is] if they come up with something to try to damage my reputation, they will have made it up.”

” “And what I have told people [is] if they come up with something to try to damage my reputation, they will have made it up.””

Cant argue with that.

Hearsay, 3rd-hand “witnesses”, and a bunch of “I cant talk on camera” people.

That and a bag of d*cks will get you a date in San Francisco.

Slanderous “anonymous source” accusations are not skeletons.

So far we have three anonymous accusers, two of which were let go with severance pay because their stories did not hold up, and the third who seems like a ‘me too’ situation. One of the two never even progressed to the point where the NRA notified Cain about it. Where are the skeletons?

False charges are not skeletons in anyone’s closet.

When will you Perry people understand that this kind of thing happens all the time, and companies settle and seal them rather than paying the expense of going to court? It is NOT an admission of guilt! It is a money and timesaving decision.

Well, there do not appear to be any.

Reasoning?

Ted Kennedy?

Bubba?

Those didn’t mean s**t, ergo, Cain has no skeletons.

After all, methinks a proposition or two accompanied by inappropriate signs don’’t appear to be worse than killing a woman, running away from the crime scene, and covering it up...or multiple assaults (including a woman sandwich.)

Face it, MSM, you folks moved the delineator...no standards for libs, no standards for conservatives.

So far, he’s believable. The types of allegations he’s faced to this point don’t get much beyond gossip and slander.

” “And what I have told people [is] if they come up with something to try to damage my reputation, they will have made it up.””

Cant argue with that.

None of this takes away the fact that there was some sort of sexual harrassment issue at a prior job. That was not made up, as Cain has now admitted as such, and probably something that should have been mentioned when he stated that there are no skeletons.

Cain has not handled this well, which I don't particularly enjoy seeing. He's my 2nd choice, so it doesn't behoove me to see him destroyed. However, he's managing to dick this up right and left.

Interviewed today on KTOK’s Mullins in the Morning, Wilson, of Wilson-Perkins-Allen Opinion Research headquartered in Washington, D.C. explained he was a witness to the incident. “I was the pollster at the National Restaurant Association when Herman Cain was head of it and I was around a couple of times when this happened and anyone who was involved with the NRA at the time, knew that this was gonna come up.”

Wilson described the woman as a low level staffer who was maybe two years out of college. “This occurred at a restaurant in Crystal City (Virginia) and everybody was aware of it,” he continued. “It was only a matter of time because so many people were aware of what took place, so many people were aware of her situation, the fact she left-—everybody knew with the campaign that this would eventually come up.”

Wilson said for legal reasons, he can not discuss details of the incident. “But if she comes out and talks about it, like I said, it’ll probably be the end of his campaign.” The consultant said Cain is digging himself a deeper hole by challenging the woman. He also believes it has put the Restaurant Association in a position where it will have to release the woman from her confidentialilty agreement. “If she talks about it, I think it’ll be the end of his campaign.”

Why is that, Wilson? Did this woman file a complain against you, too?

Cain has merely followed the Clinton pattern. And, horrifyingly enough, I have seen many people here saying that if Clinton got away with it, so should Cain.

I have actually seen people here say they won’t believe it until they see the “stained blue dress.” That’s pretty dazzling, since Cain’s settlements are actually a matter of record and there was clearly some kind of problem. Even if he was such a bad boss that people only thought he was harrassing them, he should still have to address the issue.

But Cain has done nothing but lie and obfuscate since the beginning. And then he blamed his enemies, just as Clinton did. Cain should just have admitted the settlements, apologized for any real or perceived wrongdoing, and then moved on to policy (except that he knows nearly nothing about the latter).

As evidenced by the media reaction this week. Cain's camp said he prepped at least some of his senate campaign staff on this issue in case it came up. They made the decision to wait until somebody found out about it rather than air it out ahead of time. They made that same decision for his presidential run, and it has come back to bite him.

Bill Clinton, in the Oval Office of all places, took down his pants, inserted his erect penis into the mouth of a 21-year-old girl, and ejaculated his semen down her throat.

What is Cain accused of doing specifically?

The dress suggests otherwise. But I digress.

That is from yesterday, Wilson has a dog in this race (Perry)

Here’s a question - if what Cain did was so agregious and there were so many “witnesses” why didn’t she sue and get 6 figures?
