Over 100 House members filed an amicus brief Thursday in support of a major challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act, saying the provision denying same-sex married couples federal rights is unconstitutional and undermines the interests of Congress.
The brief states the 132 House Democrats think the DOMA section defining marriage as a legal union only between one man and one woman "lacks a rational relationship to any legitimate federal purpose and accordingly is unconstitutional."
"Many Members believe that Section 3 of DOMA violates the Constitution and should be struck down," the brief states.
Under the DOMA provision in question, the federal government is not allowed to recognize the validity of same-sex marriages, meaning married gay and lesbian couples are treated as unmarried for federal purposes.

These 100 House members have failed basic biology. There is more to a viable culture than a law degree. Marriage between a man and a woman is the cornerstone of our culture. Male and female genitalia are made for union. Union cannot be achieved between male/male or female/female "couples" without adding significant risk to both the mental and physical health of the same sex pairs, and to the society at large.
It is a mockery of marriage to pretend otherwise, and adds risk to the safety, health, and security of the population these House members have pledged to protect.
The 100 House members have seriously disordered minds to claim that male/female union is no different from male/male or female/female union.
Just one item on a very long list of reasons why one should NEVER EVER vote for a Democrat!
Something like that.

Healthy well adjusted offspring IS the rational basis for any of these man+woman= marriage formulae.
Homosexuals just can’t procreate. To pretend they are like heterosexuals is the height of IRrationality [for federal purposes or for any other purpose.]. I simply don’t understand why so many seemingly normal people do not see or understand this.

This is why we need a Federal Marriage Amendment to the Constitution that defines marriage as between one man and one woman.
This is why, in 2013 the new Congress and President should disestablish the lower court system and start over. As long as Marxists dominate the lower courts there is little hope of national recovery.

"Legitimate federal interest" is LeftSpeak for "this is not social justice."
We the people must do our task of cleansing congress of progressives. Then congress must do their job and impeach those federal judges who have contravened their oath and throw them off the bench. There are at least 100 who need to be gone.
State legislatures must do the same with their state judges who will not follow their oath.
