I’m not a baseball fanatic or historian but I really enjoyed Sowell’s debunking of the so-called “dead ball” of the early 20th century. Also why the Babe was so good at hitting home runs, because he had been a pitcher and nobody cared how he swung the bat and he sort of invented that uppercut swing that was frowned upon in those days. Very interesting.
Sowell has always been brilliant. I used to have Giants baseball season tickets....but I was never a baseball fanatic :) Just love some baseball history- particularly the age of the Babe! All history is extremely interesting.
