United Nations Building in New York City. With a $2 billion renovation of its New York headquarters building still more than two years from completion, the United Nations is already lobbying member states for some $3 billion or so for additional major building projects in New York City and Geneva.
About $2.4 billion of the total would go for construction of a new office tower in Manhattan to accommodate the world organizations burgeoning staff. Another $590 million or so would go for yet another mammoth renovation job -- this one of the U.N.s venerable offices in Geneva, located in the one-time home of the ill-fated League of Nations.

too bad the 9/11 moslems didn’t fly into this building.
“.....one of the U.N.s venerable offices in Geneva, located in the one-time home of the ill-fated League of Nations.”
Would love to read that “ill-fated” comment in front of “United Nations” as well.
more waste of taxpayer’s money. We should get out of the UN now.
The debt reducing “Super Committee” has a potential multi-multi billion target for elimating waste from our government sitting right before them!
Why should the US provide more than 1/4 of the funding to keep this UN cesspool alive??
We should have gotten out of the UN 40 years ago. All it is is a forum for our enemies to pile on us. I e-mailed Senator Shelby years ago that I thought we should get out and he replied that if we got out then we would have no say in world matters. I knew right then that it was hopeless talking reason to Washington elite. We have whatever say in world matters that we choose to have. We don’t need the permission of 3rd world countries and our enemies. Damn, this always gets my blood boiling. I should go to bed.
I vote we give em a billion in expense money to move the lot and barrel to Geneva, and good riddance to them.
Great Idea, I am in.
