Interesting that Levin would defend Rove, the major-general of the Elect Jeb bush-brigade...this is a lot of tell on Levin who IMO is also a front man for (prog Repubs?) just like Rush.
I’m that disgusted with these false front media whores!

He had a solid basis for his analysis, which had nothing to do with defending Rove, who he regularly attacks, but had to do with whether Rove would have had the access to the information, unless someone else leaked it to Rove, which means that other person would be the leaker.

Remember, Rove is now part of the “press”. If Rove could get the information to be the source, that means the media could find it. Anybody could find it.

Which goes back to my basic premise — we KNOW the media was looking to trash all our conservative candidates, because we saw what they did to Bachmann’s husband, we saw the story of the Rock. Why is it suddenly that people think the media could not find out about women who claimed to be harrassed, who were separated from the NRA at the time Cain was in charge? That would have been a trivial matter — just get their public records and contact everybody who left during his term to ask why.

They’d find SOMEONE who would mention the harrassment, and then they’d dig in until they got confirmation.

You don’t need a “leaker” or “dirty tricks” when the story itself is a fact which is known by multiple people.

That is what is infuriating with all the complaints about leaking and sleazy attacks. Normally, that charge is made when someone finds some woman and pays them to come forward AND MAKE A CHARGE. So a charge that did NOT exist yesterday suddenly appears today.

This is NOT like that at all. In this case, the charge has existed since the 1990s. THe settlements existed from the 1990s. Multiple people were involved in the incidents, in the charges, in the investigation, and in the settlement. Others at the NRA knew about this, and the women had friends they told about it.

Thie was not some unknowable thing where you had to interview women to find one that had a story to tell. The story was already told. You just had to find out that there WAS a story. IN that sense, it is like the ROCK story — the rock existed, therefore people knew about it, therefore all they had to do was keep asking people until someone mentioned it, and they had a story.

And like the rock story, the two big questions for the media are 1: Is this really the most important thing to waste valuable journalistic resources on, and 2: why did you make so many false inferences from the facts?

But do you remember conservatives running around like OWS idiots screaming about what other campaign had to leak the rock story? Do you remember the Perry campaign blaming another campaign for the story without any evidence? No, because we weren’t idiots.

What we DO remember from the rock story is ONE republican candidate, out of all of them, that latched onto the story, treated the liberal interpretation of it as being true, and also misunderstood or misrepresented that facts, in order to attack Rick Perry. That candidate was Herman Cain. Who now is whining about unfair treatment by the press. And falsely accusing Perry of leaking the story, just as he falsely accused Perry of racism.

Cain has a history now, of jumping to conclusions for which he has no evidence. Do you really want a President who might at any time come to the false conclusion that some country has wronged us, and maybe launch military action on that false conclusion? Cain has shown he jumps to conclusions with little evidence, so it’s a real issue.
