Nice try slander-bot. There was NO hush money. How about instead of mindlessly pimping the smear you address the FACTS presented to you for a change.

What we are talking about is a sleazy attempt to slander and destroy a leading Conservative candidate. There is NO evidence that Cain did ANYTHING. Your assumption of guilty based on nothing but accusation is utter nonsense.

I accuse you of being a paid Romney campaign staffer pimping a paid for Romney smear against Cain

Prove me wrong

Ah but that right YOU demand a presumption of innocence. Odd how you are arrogantly refusing to grant Cain that same basic right.

So quit assuming the slanders true and provide even a single shred of evidence to back up the anonymous sourced accusations.

RE: I think this is about the 4th story I’ve read about this

Only the fourth? Where were you the past week?

The press has been in a frenzy all over this.

Just go to http://news.google.com and type in HERMAN CAIN, SEXUAL HARASSMENT and you’ll have hundreds of stories.

I don’t have a favorite right now. But I don’t want a guy in the White House who does the wrong thing around women. We have that now and I think it is an embarrassment for the country. If somehow Cain can be cleared I would consider voting for him. But right now it looks bad imo.

He didn’t behave appropriatly.

Got a viable source for that? As far as I've read, none of the documents associated with the alleged "assault" and agreement were released. So far, there was no assault of any kind.
Where are you getting your info from? Do you know the woman making these claims?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion of Cain not handling this perfectly. I could even agree with that. But really how bad is that compared to what is being done to HIM? I can forgive him not handling perfectly the whole world collapsing on him and a concerted effort to totally destroy him. There is no preparation for dealing with the DC smear machine that is something one must learn on the go. ANY real conservative regardless of background, experience, etc has to suffer this. Besides, for all your talk about how bad he has handled this he is fine in the polls and killing it with fundraising. So maybe he is doing better than you think he should. what matters is how the public responds, trust the American people they no longer immediately buy the sleaze that the media is selling. If Cain is indeed innocent of anything serious he deserves our respect, sympathy and support as a fellow conservative whether you vote for him or not.

Cain thought that for his own good and that of the organization, giving them money and telling them to ‘run along and play’ was better than creating a public scandal over what could possibly NEVER be proved one way or another-anyway.

The amounts are too low for either to be a serious situation.

The amount of money involved in these settlements suggests one thing: The organization decided it would be cheaper to settle than to pay the lawyers to fight it. That is all. It happens all the time.

First, sexual harassment is not defined as making a sexual advance. Yes, in today's corporate America you could be dismissed for making advances. However, harassment is defined as (by EEOC):

Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitutes sexual harassment when submission to or rejection of this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual's employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual's work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment.

They key is that it needs to involve consequences for refusing the advances. The last part of the definition has to do with constant unwanted advances.

Nothing I've heard suggests either situation falls under these definitions. Do I have a problem with a guy maybe making a drunken pass at a coworker? I think it stinks to cheat on your wife, but.....I would rather a guy with a little too much testosterone is the President than some pansy who wears a helmet on a bicycle and married a woman who looks like a dude.

How about instead of going into hysteric personal attack mode when your are caught in a lie you address the questions instead?

Rather then pimp the smear, provide even a single shred of evidence to back up the accusations about Cain

This thing just makes me sick and feel so helpless. I pray for Herman cain and his wife. doesnt matter if he is or isnt our nominee. this is wrong!

It's yet another clear piece of evidence the enemies (might as well call them what they really are) will stop at nothing to not only defeat their opponents, but personally destroy them. Just as they attempted -- and to some degree succeeded -- against Sarah Palin, the "media" and their DNC masters didn't want to stop at keeping Cain from the GOP nomination... they want to take a wrecking ball to his marriage, his reputation and his future.

This country is devolving quickly into a one-party dictatorship, and the most frustrating aspect of it all is so few seem to notice or care about it.

Oh, my gosh. That’s a disgusting lie. The “radio guy’s” story amounted to :

During his Oct. 3 broadcast in Iowa, Deace mentioned that Cain made a comment to a woman who was there to report on the radio interview for another news agency.

“Cain said, ‘Darling, do you mind doctoring my tea for me?’” Deace said.

Deace told the Register last month that he believes Cain was talking about adding honey and lemon, but that it was an awkward moment.

OH, THE HUMANITY!!!

RE: We appreciate you concern but you can keep it.

Carry me back has been using the word “toast” in every Herman Cain thread on this issue.

If you’re a liberal you’d wish for more ‘conservatives’ like these...

They’re so easy to intimidate that a mere insinuation of scandal will cause them to abandon ship.

The strategy is easy — MANUFACTURE A SCANDAL (regardless of truth) and make it appear real with some half-truth embedded in the story.

Work’s every time.

The guy at the radio station a staunch conservative said he acted wrong with the women there.

The guy at the Iowa radio station is a Bachmann supporter. 'Nuff said. As for the settlements, they're done every day, with, and without, sufficient proof of harassment. Get your facts straight. Oh, that's right, Cain maintaining strong polling doesn't help your candidate who is...? My bet's on Perry

I don’t see where you have pointed out anything. All you do (speaking of spam) is repeat over and over again “prove it, prove it, prove it” as if any criticism of the Cain campaign is automatic agreement with the proposition that he acted improperly during his tenure at NRA.

I do not believe that Herman Cain did anything wrong while at NRA, and yet you continually ask me to “show a shred of evidence”.

You pride yourself in being logical. Why can’t you see how you are making an illogical connection?

“Samtheman criticizes the Cain campaign, therefore he agrees with the allegations of improper behavior during Cain’s tenure at NRA and he refuses to show a shred of evidence to support those allegations.”

That is clearly illogical and yet it is what you are essentially pushing against me and a few others over and over again, that and accusing all critics of being Perry supporters.

I was a Perry supporter, back in the days before the debates. I am not now and never will be again.

Doesn’t the guy at the radio station have a track record of helping conservatives. What was Cain doing at the station getting ready to be interviewed ? I don’t think this guy started out not liking Cain. He has been around a lot longer than Cain has.

You’re in the wrong country.

Anyway that’s stupid. How is he supposed to “prove” he didn’t do something?

Cain will never get my vote unless he could prove he is innocent.

Spare us the sleazy political tactics Romneybot.

Unless you can prove you are not a Romneybot paid to pimp this Romney paid for, Rove orchestrated smear, everything you post will be tagged as coming from the Romney camp

Care to reconsider your stupid "guilty until proven innocent" standard now?

I also ask - if these women were good at their jobs, enjoyed their work, and were innocently assaulted and harassed by Cain in some way - WHY would they agree to leave their jobs and careers for such a relatively low amount of money?

Although I think your theory in #97 is a bit of a long-shot, I’m willing to consider it as a possibility. A remote possibility, but still a possibility.
