It is not just .50 caliber rifles of course. What the "elite" really fear is that they may be held accountable for their actions.

Politicians should respect citizens, citizens are their bosses.

anybody can walk in and buy anything Never noting that what she's referring to starts at $2000 and prices move north of $5000 fast. AND she never notes that these things are about 5 feet long and weigh around 30 pounds (supplies not included).
No, she talks like it's $100 and fits in a pocket.

“And the problem is anybody can walk in and buy anything, .50 caliber weapons, a sniper weapons, buy them in large amounts, and send them down to Mexico.”
And the problem is anybody can earn money, a week’s pay, thousands of dollars, and send them to down to Mexico. Should we outlaw the dollar?
...oh, wait. I’ve got to stop giving the Marxists new ideas.

It is obvious that the thought of a projectile which can be fired from a mile away that can penetrate her limousine's armor in some nominal green zone "safe envelope" is the stuff of her nightmares.Along with the ignominious end of Khadaffi....

Dr. Freud would have fun analyzing this obsession with a large size (caliber) weapon.

You do not want an armed government and an unarmed populace. Then the government becomes the boss, and not the citizens. Our form of government is supposed to be one where the citizens are the boss.

None but an armed nation can dispense with a standing army. To keep ours armed and disciplined is therefore at all times important.

The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that... it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.

Also sniping at extreme long ranges with heavy-caliber bullets is more analogous to an artillery strike, since it requires coordination with a spotter and “walking” a missed shot onto target. It's both art & science and requires a lot of training & coordination. Beyond what you'd expect for a lone, crazed conservative gunman. And make no mistake, that is what DiFi is thinking about!

I would hope that by “anybody” she’s referring to the chief gunwalker at Justice and his enabler in the WH. Fortunately, Obama’s little under the radar scheme got blown up and Holder is now busy trying to obstruct.
It either takes an idiot or a super-sized set of stones to talk about running US firearms into Mexico after getting caught red handed doing that very thing.
Pathetic is the only term I can think of.

At least twenty times that of his tiny pocket derringer.
