Perry, Channeling 2010, Sharpens Anti-Washington Talk
The Texas Tribune ^ | November 4, 2011 | Jay Root

JOHNSTON, Iowa — It’s not enough to say Washington has gone too far with job-killing regulations and reckless spending. Rick Perry now wants to destroy the nation’s capital as we know it.

The 2012 presidential hopeful, seeming to channel his 2010 riffs, is sharpening his anti-Washington rhetoric in speeches, op-eds and interviews. In town hall meetings this week in first-test Iowa, where Perry is hoping to stage a comeback from single-digit poll numbers, the Texas governor has been using bold language to illustrate his disdain for the spendthrift, DC-Beltway culture.

He started out saying he was going to take a “wrecking ball” to the Washington establishment that he says “hates” him, and then he grabbed another construction-industry term to drive it home.

“I‘m going to show up in Washington, D.C., with a sledgehammer and they’re not going to like it, and that’s exactly what I think this country needs in Washington, is somebody that’s not afraid to go in and to really crush that system that is in place that has cost this country trillions of dollars,” Perry told workers Thursday at Pioneer, a seed research and development company in Johnston.

The Washington DC and area economy is thriving. Everyone else is slowly, slowly sinking beneath the waves, figurately drowning. Texas has maintained itself better than most, but nobody should kid anybody, we are hurting. We are only half bandaged up while most everyone else is a walking bandage.

Yes figuratively, but that actually is a good visualization of our current situation if one WERE to take that literally as well!

As a very important source of strength and security, cherish public credit. One method of preserving it is to use it as sparingly as possible: avoiding occasions of expence by cultivating peace, but remembering also that timely disbursements to prepare for danger frequently prevent much greater disbursements to repel it; avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt, not only by shunning occasions of expence, but by vigorous exertions in time of Peace to discharge the Debts which unavoidable wars may have occasioned, not ungenerously throwing upon posterity the burthen which we ourselves ought to bear.

What Perry hates the most: bloodsucking lawyers who destroy free enterprise. The scum know their days are numbered.

Thought you might like seeing this.

It is not about the stuff he has done to bloodsucking lawyers who destroy free enterprise, but it does show Perry’s hard stand on bloodsucking federal actions of late that have helped to hurt our nation’s economy.

Gee, now you have him coming down from the clouds. Better put a halo around his head, too.

Maybe that's because Perry spent time in the Air Force. Shield, do you have that other picture of him AFTER he came out of the clouds? The one in uniform?

I know you guys like to stop all criticism of the goofy governor of the great State of Texas by citing his service but it’s not going to work. That picture is ridiculous.

I rather like it, but I do like the one of him in uniform better.

You mean this one? At least, Perry was in the military no one else except Ron Paul actually served. The all the others found ways to draft dodge than serve their country.

No, I'm not too fond of alpha males who can't put two coherent sentences together; thinks the American revolution was fought in the 16th Century; thinks that the way to solve Obama’s birth certificate issue is for Obama to look at Perry's birth certificate; thinks the words “anecdote” and “antidote” are synonyms; and is constantly threatening to secede from the United States!

Sorry, he's a rube. An alpha male rube but a rube nonetheless.

Honesty carries a lot of weight. When lurkers see statements that are dishonest, bias lies, they deep six any candidate you and others support. Lurkers have signed up with FR to tell me just that through FReepmail. And have given me and other Perry supporters congratulations for keeping the discourse on a level they respect. You can yap yap back at me, but it truly is only hurting yourself and your cause.

Yep, that’s the one. I love it when people say he’s dumb, you don’t get to be an AF pilot by being dumb.

You Perries are always accusing others of lying. I get so sick of that kind of bullying. Nothing in my post is a lie. Your candidate has foot-in-mouth disease and is an embarrassment to American discourse.
