Check earlier. Poland was an ally of Nazi Germany and participated in the dismemberment of Czechoslovakia. Like the Russians, the Poles paid dearly for their opportunism.

There were also some Polish nationalists who wanted a war with Germany. They thought it would be a WWI style war in which they could hold off the Germans indefinitely, and France and Britain would crush Germany. Then they could take East Prussia.
