Didn't the tree fall down last year?
The theme this year is “California Shines” and 5,000 ornaments from Californians will be part of the tree decorations.
It was the National Christmas Tree that high winds took down last February.
The National Christmas Tree is a planted, living tree, located in the Ellipse in back of the White House. The Capitol Christmas Tree is a harvested tree which is erected on the West Lawn of the Capitol.
The National Christmas Tree is lit by the President and First Lady; the Capitol Christmas Tree is traditionally lit by the Speaker of the House (Boehner this year, Pelosi last year) and stays lit thru New Year’s Day.
God knows what 5,000 ornaments from California will look like. I’m sure there will be some nice ones done by conservatives, but I shudder what will come out of the Bay Area. I imagine many with the gay pride rainbow, etc. I’m sure some “artistic type” will come up with something good for his Christmas balls.
A muslim celebrating Christmas how nice! Wonder what kind of vile crap they will hang on this one. Nice to know they can still put on a show.
Oh one more thing, is this the tree the zero’s planted to offset the wookies vacation carbon footprint?
