Cain did something last night that impressed me greatly, but it was not at all obvious at first; it took a while to sink in. On a question of defined benefit plans v. defined contribution plans he thought for a second, realized he hadn't formulated his thoughts, looked at his "opponent," and said, "You take it."

Have you EVER seen a politician do that? Hell no! Every politician I have ever seen will say anything, no matter how lame, because he needs to look like he's totally in charge. Yet in doing so, I can't tell you how many times they merely proved that they hadn't a clue. It later became apparent that it wasn't the case that Cain didn't know anything about the topic. He simply did not know what he wanted to say. So, he deferred to 'his guy,' Newt, a man he clearly trusted and respected in order to work off what he had to say. Everybody knows Newt has something to say. The problem with him is that much of what he believes is plainly wrong (cap and trade, etc.).

I think this is but one reason why these two clearly like each other.

Cain is a guy I could work for: A real leader who will do what he can to make his people look good. He doesn't have to know everything. After all, if he did, why hire anybody? Why have advisers? This is a leader, not a monster ego.

This is what I think I see and hope I am right. Humility at the right time and strength and confidence at the right time.

I can’t decide though if the two of them are successful, and among all the candidates I want one of these two to face obastard, who is first between the equals? They are equals in different ways. Their strengths and shortcomings seem to compliment one another. Frankly, I think the two of them have a plan together that they have not announced yet. I thin they are just working for the right time.

I’m praying for the United States and leadership that will lead us out of this wasteland we are now in. I know it can be done but it will take the right vision and it will take a long time.

I agree. Newt Gingrich is a politician, politicians can talk for hours on end, with or without saying anything (he was also a professor, and they have that same ability). Herman Cain, however, would appear as though he is not used to blabbing incessantly, having never been a politician. I’d rather have a person think about what they are going to say, and politely say “I need a moment” or something to that effect, instead of having nothing to say and filling an hour with “ums” and “ers” (Like Obama using over an hundred in a few minutes as counted in one clip, or Rick Perrys yammering and stammering at anything and everything).

An intelligent person does not have all answers at the drop of a hat. A person may be an expert in a subject but they still have to formulate their message for the audience they are going to deliver the message to. I appreciate, not criticize the ability to say “I need just one moment” as a respectful use of my time, rather than wasting 10x as long because you were unprepared to give an answer.
