New Hampshire Supreme Court Upholds Pension Right-to-Know Ruling

The New Hampshire Supreme Court has ordered that the names of public-pension recipients be disclosed, ruling that the public has a right to know the amount of their retirement-benefit payments.

The Union Leader had sought to have the names of the 500 highest-paid recipients publicly disclosed by New the Hampshire Retirement System in early 2010 when the state legislature was considering making changes to the state pension fund.

I hope this exposure spreads. I have heard that here in California, there are numerous state retirees receiving state pensions up to $345,000 a year.

The courts have recently held that public employee pensions in California are matters of public record. You can look up all of them!. Here in Contra Costa County, we have the top pension “earners” in the county. All of them are “retiree” from the San Ramon Valley Fire District. Take a look! And remember each of these aSSholes retired at or near 50!

Here is the top ten list:

That would make them part of the 1%’rs, wouldn’t it. Wonder how the OWS crowd will be able to rationalize that.

7 of the top 10 are in Contra Costa, and 5 of the top 10 are San Ramon Fire Department employees.

Someone should start an Occupy SRFD camp.

I just found some other info-this time about California Teachers at this link.

The list of retired teachers and administrators collecting six-figure pensions has grown by 70% in the last year and a half.There are now more than 5200 people in the club, according to California Foundation for Fiscal Responsibility, a Citrus Heights group warning taxpayers that the CalSTRS pension fund is in deep trouble. In reviewing the list, CFFR president Marcia Fritz observed, “The top is making $296,555. The second is $290,484.”

Just damn - lucky bass turds. Right place, right time. As a matter of contract I do not think these pensions can be reduced. All that can be done is going forward to cut benefits for pre-retirement employees. BTTT! ;-)
