Budget battles to shadow Obama on Asia-Pacific tour (Bali Hai vacation)

In Bali at the East Asia Summit on November 18-19, Obama will become the first U.S. president to participate in that gathering of leaders from the economically dynamic and strategically important region. His visit to Australia is aimed at underscoring security ties with a staunch ally and thanking the country for its support in Afghanistan.

Most people live on a lonely island, Lost in the middle of a foggy sea. Most people long for another island, One where they know they will like to be.

I knew a guy, a Foreign Service Officer, in Saudi Arabia some years ago. This dude got out of the Army as a captain and went right into the Foreign Service. His first post right out of training was to the U S Consulate in Bali. One can only go downhill from there.
