As far as judgement is concerned, maybe the lesson is — for men in positions of power, never, ever be alone with a girl who is not your wife. Who knows what will be said about it years later.
Sadly, I think that is a fairly accurate statement.
This was Billy Graham's standard for staff in his ministry. It is very, very good advice to follow.
I realize standards for a Christian ministry are not always possible in business unless you're the boss — sometimes two staff members are going to be assigned to work long hours together on a project and if a man refuses to spend time with an attractive female colleague he may even get disciplined for “gender discrimination” when all he wanted to do was avoid false accusations.
However, avoiding appearance of evil and avoiding temptation is a very good idea.
