Unions are only good for bullying people. State employees will be union employees.
I worked at a Penn State campus in the 1990s. The faculty and staff people did not belong to unions then. I don’t think that has changed. There was resentment at my campus that Paterno was so well paid compared to the regular faculty. The exalted football program and Paterno were celebrated everywhere. Life-size cardboard cutouts of Paterno for sale in the bookstore, for example. It was a bit much.
