Rev Samuel Rodriguez did his usual slick presentation about how Hispanics are natural Republicans. Pat Robertson ate it up with a spoon. Robertson said that some of the harsh rhetoric was scareing away Hispanic voters from the Republican party.

This is at least the second time that Rodriguez has appeared on the 700 Club, he has also become close with Richard Land, the head of the Baptist convention. Also, I heard him on the Focus on the Family radio program, he is a johnny-one-note, always about the interests of the Hispanic community, especially the Dream Act. This guys strikes me as being a real smooth operator, I do not trust him.

I looked up Rev. Samuel Rodriguez on google and this is what a I found. He belongs to the Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals. He belongs to Somos Republicans, He has stated that Tom Tancredo and JD Hayworth are “polarizing”, the Judeo-Christian narrative compels legislature to support the DREAM Act. It is a moral imperitive and to continue to punish these children is nothing thass than anti-Christian, anti-Hispanic and anti-American. He is also pro Obama care.

He also belongs to the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) which has Joel hunter on its board, David Neff (Christianity Today), Richard Cizik, David Gushee, and Glenn Stassen. This National Association of Evangelicals is part of an “evangelical left” movement which seems to be trying to steer the Evangelicals to the left point of view by using the scriptures and giving them a leftist twist. There is also the Evangelicals for Social Actions (Ron Sider), Emerging Church (Brian McLaren) and Sojourners (Jim Wallis). I think this is a subversive movement similar to the leftward tilt of the mainstream churches. I think they are trying to start a liberal National Council of Churches for the Evangelicals.
