I spent Christmas of '67 in the isolation ward of the old 'Mainside' base hospital, which then was a huge, meandering one-story maze that covered acres it seemed. I'd been on mess duty as "Salad Man" with my bare arms mixing greens all day long when I came down with Rubella a/k/a German Measles........heh; I started a plague.

I think the base hospital is now 4-5 stores. Still run by the Navy.

The new one will be much larger. They say the’ll be doing therapy for the wounded there.

Haven’t seen that sign. We live downtown and we fondly call the downtown Marinetown. Our son was at CP Camp Marguerita until he got embassy duty, MSG.
