For the life of me, I can’t understand what right or left wing politics has to do with this.
I always thought the Penn St. quarterbacks took more snaps under center than most! ;-)
Most of my PSU-friends were of the opinion that Joe Paterno gets to decide how long Joe Paterno gets to coach PSU. That's before all this, of course. I'm like, "Wait a minute! This isn't some family business that he founded!" Truthfully, JoePa has been losing it for years.
Doesn’t it seem odd that all of this came out right AFTER JoePa becomes the winningest head coach of all time?
As Aldo Raine said in Inglourious Basterds, “We got a word for that kind of odd in English....it’s called ‘suspicious.’”
It's simple (at least to me). Liberalism creates a culture that tolerates deviancy of all forms under the umbrella of diversity. The homosexual agenda is advanced by the left, thereby creating the environment for acceptance of pedophiles. Leftists don't believe in moral absolutes and typically reject Christian values.
“28 yo Michael McQueary was an eyewitness to the March 2, 2002 assault”
Did this guy who witnessed it ever call the police if he actually SAW a rape? Seems like most of the blame should fall on the adult eyewitness and not the 3rd party he reported it to. This lack of calling the police could have easily lead the third party to think that whatever he saw didn’t lead HIM to call 911. A bad idea,,,but it’s probably the kind of thought process that lead to Paternos response.
Sure, let's see if Joe has the balls to face the crowds at Ohio State and Wisconsin. I'd love to see that.
BTW, it's Xanax.
we can multi-task and direct our anger both ways.
Sandusky had free reign. Oh wait! They did take away his keys to the showers!
Other than that? He still had his parking spot, office, access to workout facilities.
After 2002 he continued to attend games, banquets, practices - with boys at his side.
Did no one think this to be.....odd?
How about the grown up men who had discussed the unspeakable in 2002?
Hey look! Jerry has another date for the game!
Really?
And don’t even get me going about the overnight football camps at satellite campuses!
Bingo.
The NCAA needs to come down heavy on Penn State -- using NCAA Bylaw 2.4 (brought to my attention by Mr. Bird):
NCAA Bylaw 2.4 The Principles of Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct. For intercollegiate athletics to promote the character development of participants, to enhance the integrity of higher education and to promote civility in society, student-athletes, coaches, and all others associated with these athletics programs and events should adhere to such fundamental values as respect, fairness, civility, honesty and responsibility. These values should be manifest not only in athletics participation but also in the broad spectrum of activities affecting the athletics program.
a local high school principal finally stopped the madness in ‘09 or ‘10 by calling the police (hey! now there’s an idea!)
Grand jury testimony occurred last december.
I’m not sure what finally triggered the timing for saturday’s arrest.
My post was in context. We have people here fighing over whether these villians were Republican or Democrat donors! Who cares? They all belong in jail.
It’s painfully obvious they all tried to keep the crimes and scandal within the school system and out of public view.

It would be interesting to see what the psychology department was actually TEACHING on that topic there,,wouldn’t it? While everyone is screaming for Paternos head,, i bet you a paycheck that in the psych dept and womens studies department is teaching perversions that would make Caligula blush. They have gay clubs, vagina monologues, V-day instead of valentines day, etc,,,
Of course, THAT’S ok.
That, or you had a situation like at Baylor, where they covered up the details of a murder of one of their basketball players, out of fear of what else the investigators were going to find out about the program.
“BTW, it’s Xanax.”
BTW,, im kind of proud that i can’t spell the name of the most popular mom-has-stress pill. But I notice you can spell it just fine! Yesssiree,,,
My friend, Buck! You’re here on a very, very serious thread. I’m new to this story and am having a nervous breakdown over this horror. Sort of puts the Cain chicks in perspective, doesn’t it? (Do not mean to hijack this thread!!)

When asked about retirement, Joe Paterno once said that he would not, because it would leave college football in the hands of "the Jackie Sherrills and the Barry Switzers".
Nope, he will stay in the press box.
Well, at least he wasn’t turning his head away from trading in sports memoribillia or free tatoos.
