Government over-spending *is* the problem, not the solution. If mere money-printing was the answer then Japan would be ruling the world right now.

STOP THE FED from bailing out Europe...it will only break us both.

Profits are private.

Losses are socialized.

Get with the program.

"So figure 9-10 days without food deliveries or food stamps before riots begin. "

I've seen others place that 'riot time' at 72 hours.

That's when the food in the stores will be gone and the people who didn't get any realize they're the ones who will go hungry.

Anyway, same result.

"The Federal Reserve needs to relieve the banks of the risks they took, and transfer that risk to the American taxpayer."

Do we get title to the countries? If so, I say we buy Italy first.

I saw that - do you figure that’s an allusion to the joke that ends “Death by ....”?

Not certain it’ll actually come to revolution, but much unpleasantness of some form is guaranteed, no matter what anybody does.

The US Constitution was written that way originally.

The current welfare state monstrosity is a function of human nature. “A republic, ma’am, if you can keep it.”

“Some ideas are so stupid that only intellectuals believe them.” - George Orwell

I was talking to a middle-aged Ivy League MBA the other day. Works for a hedge fund and we were discussing the economy. I mentioned inflation risk and he smiled at me, pitying my simple ignorance and said, “a little inflation is good” and I thought of you.

Some professor taught him that you cannot have growth without inflation. Some professor convinced by some other sophist that you cannot have hard currency. And so the chain begins. Then he and his entire class and all the classes before and since have believed that lie.

Scarcity is natural and normal. Shortages are caused by government.

Yup. I agree.

I use the word 'revolution' to cover all that is going to happen. For some, 'it' will be a revolution, IMO.

Ouch. The truth hurts. Everyone says “Cut entitlements, but leave mine alone.”

What bothers me is that retirees who’ve worked hard, raised families, launched their children into life, and now deserve to take well deserved down time, will be lumped in with the “gimee gimee gimee” welfare nanny state pond scum who’ve done nothing.

When there is no money left to be disbursed, dems will wring their hands over the “poor” welfare recipients who won’t be able to pay their cell phone bill.

End welfare. End unemployment. End social security.

If the opportunity arises, you might pose to him the question "Since in the ordinary course of progress people are continuously coming up with better, more efficient ways of doing things, why should we not consider inflation to be something created by banks and governments; otherwise costs would be continuously decreasing due to increased productivity?".

>>>The collapse is coming, there is no doubt considering the path we are on - the only question is how long and what takes over after the fact. We can only hope for the best as these types of things often end badly.<<<

The dependency classes often choose the strongman who promises to take assets from the wealthy and give it to them. Sort of like “Obama’s stash.” If the strongman wins, we have a dictator. If he loses, we have civil war.

The good news is that there are often places where free people find a way to make things work together. Hopefully I’m in one of those places. When Rome was finally sacked in 476, there were still parts of the Roman Empire that continued on peacefully. Perhaps I’ll be in one of those lucky places.

Yup - that's about it.

The "too big to fail" banks should have been allowed to fail 3 years ago.

If that had happened, the global economy would be on its way to healing itself by now, instead of heading towards total implosion.

I am convinced that the "end game" is a new one world currency, controlled by a one world government, that is controlled by the Antichrist.

That isn't "conspiracy theory" - it is scripture and biblical prophecy.
