What was a "boy" (or "boys") doing in the shower at Penn State in the first place?
Part of Sandusky's M.O.-his victims ultimately ended up in the shower with him.Sandusky had unrestricted access to the locker rooms which included the shower area.He would get his victims in there using the pretense of having to wash up after a wrestling practice, whether they were sweaty or not.

Ew!
And, per Rintense’s post #53 (whose word is always good), this has been going on and known about since at least 1998?

...using the pretense of having to wash up after a wrestling practice, whether they were sweaty or not. This is actually a practice that ALL coaches adamantly adhere to. It teaches young men good hygiene. I was ALWAYS instructed by my coaches that showers were required - we always took them, it makes sense. It is an important aspect of athletics that carries on through life - that being the need for good hygiene.
Not busting your chops, but to say that he used a good practice as his "MO" is a bit incorrect and disingenuous.
