You are correct Sir. They were not friends, even then. but there is someone else in Texas Politics that holds a great amount of power also. The LT. Gov decides what Legislation is Ramroded through, but and I may be mistaken, The Speaker of the House gets to decide what Legislation gets voted on. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The Gov of Texas, by our Constitution is basically just a figure head. They have powers in a special session of our Legislature which only meets every 2 years, but again it's the Lt Gov and the Speaker. A Great TX Gov like GWB and Perry know how to pull the strings and make it all work. Perry is a GREAT Gov (considering the choices we had KBH, Bill White) as was GWB, but it doesn't require a leap of faith to believe they could make a great President.
