You may well be on to something. I read up a bit on this particular case, and the (declared) dead Mr. Gricar apparently used his home computer to search for things like how to destroy a hard drive, etc

I though that I heard that the statute of limitations for child sexual predators had been extended for decades. IIRC it was something that came out of the Catholic Church/priest scandal where adults were coming back many years after the statute of limitations was exceeded.
