You are not entirely focused today, Deb. My observation that the EDL are a bunch of socialists has nothing to do with politics in the Middle East.

As I am sure you are aware, I and the other British/Irish freepers (mitch86, vanders9, IrishConservative etc) all dislike or detest the EDL and have explained numerous times exactly why.

Your hatred of the EDL has nothing to do with competing economic ideologies. You support Islam. Man up (if possible) and admit it.

Most people and parties, including conservative and conservative-nationalists, oppose the EDL. They are disliked and distrusted across the political and social spectrum.

We can't help it that you people have resigned yourselves to the pitiful transformation of your once-great nation into a land where your children will be second-class citizens.

Most of your countrymen know little of freedom; you let the government take over your health care and you let them take your handguns.

So is the Tea Party here.

You're just proving my point.

There's no shame in losing an argument, but injecting any "nazi" reference into any discussion makes you an automatic loser. Besides, the EDL organized to counter the Muslim protests against returning British soldiers from Iraq. How is that "socialist" or nazi?

Attempting to deflect by pretending I've lost focus is pathetic.

You think Democrats and the RINO establishment and the MSM likes the Tea Party?

Seen these numbers?

"A CNN/ORC poll released today shows the approval rating for the tea party movement at its lowest point since polling began in 2010.

The conservative/libertarian movement is viewed favorably by just 28 percent of Americans — down from its all time high of 38 percent last November — while 53 percent have a negative opinion of it, also a record.

1—97% of the UK is NOT Muslim.

This idea that Britain has been, is being or will be conquered by Islam is a nosense and a fantasy. You ever wondered why the people who say that are Americans, not British?.

How ironic you are still selling that flimflam on a thread posted by a Brit about how the Brits have clamped down on Islamic extremists.

2—The NHS was set up in 1948 as the result of wartime policy papers and political movements that included the Conservatives, and yes even old Winston. If you actually knew your British history, you’d know that. And we have private healthcare, plenty of it.

3—We WILL agree on the handgun ban. Idiotic and kneejerk, it gained support because (and I have said this on FR many times) the British populace was never and never has been a gun owning people, and such, the restrictive laws gained little opposition, be it the 1920’s or the 1990’s.

Calling a bunch of National Socialists "Nazis" is not out of order, even if one subscribes to Godwin's Law.

Furthermore (and to use an extreme example), it is theoretically (and logically) possible to oppose homosexuality, while not supporting Fred Phelps.

So the EDL was organized to counter-protest the anti-war protestors (true). That doesn't mean I cannot take a more critical look at them.

The Tea Party is a viable political force in present U.S. politics, making your point . . . well . . . stupid.

The Tea Party are a group of normal and decent people.

The EDL are a group with links to football hooligans and to more extreme far right groups like Combat 18 and to the racist and antisemitic BNP political party. The EDL has a disproportinate number of members with criminal convictions for football hooliganism ,GBH, assault, racial hatred, racial assault, racial harassment....

Thanks for proving MY point about the starry eyed notion of the EDL in the US.
