If Newt has "strayed outside his marriage bed," well, it just doesn't bother me as much as it bothers you. Considering presidents throughout history, to include some of the Founders, did the same thing.

Newt is a conservative and an intellectual giant that is imminently qualified to be POTUS. That's what I care about.

Jesus said: But I sayeth unto you, that whosoever looketh upon a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. ~ Matthew 5:28 So by the standard set down by Christ Himself , you are as guilty as Newt Gingrich, and so am I.

There is a difference between thinking about a sinful act and committing it. The latter will get the adulterer and adulteress stoned. The former is a prelude to the potential act. So deny it and its offspring.

Each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death (James 1:14-15).

I just recently rediscovered this verse:

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. (Romans 13:14).

So in other words, you're saying that Jesus was mistaken in His Words spoken as written in Matthew 5:28? According to Jesus, there IS no difference.

Jesus wrote the Law. (see Leviticus 20:10). Thoughts about adultery do not get one stoned. Committing adultery does.

Sounds like a difference to me.

I was wrong about Newt’s present wife having been working for him at the time they started their affair. She worked for a different congressman.

Sin is sin. No matter the form, it is unacceptable to Almighty God except for the cleansing Blood of Jesus which washes us from all iniquity.

Let's take a look at the Book of Buford (T. Justice) when he said to those kids on the side of the road:

"So you boys just stay here and keep your hands on the car until one of my associates arrive. And don't go home. And don't go to eat. And don't play with yourself. Wouldn't look nice on my highway. You can think about it, but don't you DO it!!"

Somehow, I can't see Jesus endorsing or approving that approach.

These are such strange times anything is possible.

Once Paul Ryan opted out - I didn’t have a dog in the race other than trying to identify the best conservative.

If you asked me last week who I’d pull the lever for in a primary? Santorum.

This week? Cain

If my candidate doesn’t make it through the process and Newt gets nominated? I’ll certainly vote for him over Obama.

I’d guess he’d mop the floor with Obama during the debates no matter what his “baggage” is.

The good thing is...it’s already out, so it won’t become an October surprise next year.

This is NOT the point being argued. Both are sins. However, one sin is a "sin unto death" (stoning).
