Anybody remember that little AGW commercial he did with princess pelosi?
Reagan was not the smartest in the room but a leaders leader. Have you ever notice that the smartest people in the world do the dumbest things. I will take commonsense and trust any day over high IQ.
Which saint are you backing?
I listened to no less than Ann Coulter on Hannity this afternoon in his last hour telling Sean that she is tired of Newt “whining” about the media’s questions. To his credit, Hannity defended Newt (I agree!), then allowed Ann to continue to make her next point. Newt needs to continue beating up the DBM for their lack of objectivity and defending everything Obama, Clinton and leftist!!
Ann then stated (essentially) that the rest of the field should just bow out because Romney will be the nominee!! I was driving at the time and just about ran my car into a Hyundai!! I spent the rest of the segment screaming “NO!” at the radio, appalled that Ann has fallen for Romney’s BS!!
Ann used to be a conservative heroine (not JUST because she is a babe!), but she is losing it. I think she has spent too much time in NYC and needs to get out into “flyover” country more often to find out why much of “conservative” America is not fond of Romney and doesn’t want him to be the nominee (see the related website “notMittromney.com”).
Actually, Cain doesn’t inspire me much.
I didn’t appreciate him accusing Perry of being a racist or accusing Perry of generating the sexual harassment stuff. He should get the facts before pointing fingers.
I’d vote for him, but I don’t find him inspirational.
My 1st choice is Newt, then Cain, then Bachmann
I’m not running for the Republican nomination for president.
HAHAHA - good one !
Some of our most “moral” presidents were horrible leaders: GHW Bush, Obama, Carter, GWB, ... just for starters.
One of our best was divorced and remarried: REAGAN !
Amen !
Newt didnt understand the Tea Pary movement intuitively. He had to study it and learn it, then, agreeing with it, he tries to apply it.

brilliant comment, yours!
Why thank you!
And it’s still better than Newt not getting it at all.
But you know how they talk about Tebow’s mechanics as a QB? They say no matter how much he trains otherwise, when he gets under certain types of pressure, he will revert to his most natural “throw.”
I think pols are like that, too.
Yes, they can learn new tricks and sometimes quite effectively. But longer a pol has been steeped in a certain way of doing things, the more likely that is to be his “go to” style in a moment of personal or professional challenge.
I agree with your #46, including your picks.
Yes, it certainly would have been better if the Cain campaign had not accused Perry of anything. But stuff happens in the heat of battle. Not excusing it, though.
That said, I don’t find things like that have any impact, for me, on whether or not Cain, the man, is inspiring. To me, he is. And I think his rise in the polls reflects that his inspiring nature has caught the attention of the voters.
I think Newt is great and it’s been fantastic what he has brought to this race so far.
But, as I’ve detailed upthread, he has his own REAL transgressions (not just smear jobs) which, as much as they show moral lapses (for which he’s asked forgiveness, good for him), to me mainly show that he was very deep into being a typical, fast and loose, undisciplined and hypocritical pol.
And, seems dumb, but I really don’t like the idea of having a First Lady (Callista) who got there by having an affair with the boss while she was his Chief of Staff (IIRC) and he was married to someone else. Talk about a negative impact on the workplace for women! And don’t get me started on the $500,000 tab at Tiffany’s and so on.
I don’t know much about Gloria Cain, but I’m quite sure she would be a classier representative of our country. Not to mention quite a bit less unsufferable.
And I think that says something about these two men and how they’ve conducted themselves over their lifetimes.
Newt has a lot to offer, but he poses risks too. I would like to see him contribute as a strong VP in President Cain’s administrations.
Again, I see “acting presidential” as a measure of tone and approach, NOT content.
Of course we need a president who will tell the truth and confront lies clearly and forcefully.
All I’m saying is that getting down in the weeds with a moderator on a national debate is not necessarily a tactic that is going to be useful as POTUS.
Now that I’m warming up to Newt, all about him from over the last two decades is sort of coming back to me. I still could vote for him for President if he gets the nomination, but I’d feel more comfortable with him as VP. That way, the nation gets the Gingrich benefits without so much of the Gingrich risks!
Bartiromo is a little Mafia princess from Brooklyn. She’s not used to being confronted by anyone.
interesting.
thanks.
Reagan was twice married wasn't he? Newt is a serial adulterer, really?
Twice, not thrice, and I never heard of President Reagan straying from his marriage bed. It’s well-known that Newt has done so repeatedly. Google it.
