"I can talk," said Lydia Tillman with pride and great effort. For a woman who spent over five weeks in a coma after being sexually assaulted, strangled and doused in bleach, this is no small feat.
"I'm tough," said Tillman, an acclaimed sommelier and a seasoned world traveler.
At a 4th of July fireworks celebration in downtown Fort Collins, Colorado, Tillman, 30, met a stranger who returned with her to her apartment, sexually assaulted and strangled her, beat her head, shattered her jaw, and left her for dead. To cover his crime, police say the man then poured bleach on her body and throughout her apartment, then started a fire.
Despite the physical trauma, Tillman found the strength to survive by leaping out of her second-story window and running into the awaiting ambulance. When the medics asked whether she knew the assailant, Tillman repeatedly told them "No, no, no" before suffering a stroke that left her in a coma for over five weeks.

"It was my intention to find the strength in my heart to forgive Travis Forbes."
Why are people so big into unqualified forgiveness? The Bible clearly states, "Rebuke, the forgive" If the person has not been rebuked (i.e., sent to jail) you should not even consider forgiving him, IMHO.
What is it with women who either go to a total strangers’ house/apartment or invite total strangers to their home?!?
Why was there a waiting ambulance for her to run to? I mean, maybe there were screams reported to the police, but that alone doesn’t usually bring an ambulance, or smoke to the fire department, and that might bring an ambulance, but why didn’t a police officer or fireman find her? They were hanging out in the parking lot with the ambulance?
Too handsome for his own good. Arrogant. Usually I like Nordic types, but I’d cast this one as the SS Sturmhauptfuhrer.
Anyway, even the ones that look like you could trust them, you shouldn’t. Shouldn’t take a stranger home with you.
“I’m tough,” the victim boasts. Yeah, you are honey, but you’re still stupid.
I’m confused. Was she stored in the freezer? Did she jump from the freezer or with the freezer into the ambulance? Was she bleached?
I wish I had a freezer big enough to store a body. Some people are lucky!
Notice at the bottom that they want us to tune in for the full story.
You don’t want to know.....
He sure looks innocent. Can’t always go by looks as Ted Bundy proved.
At least one. They just found her body a couple weeks ago after the scumbag told them where to look.
she should have at least asked for his resume
I wish I had a freezer big enough to store another body.
Oops, please disregard.
I wish I had a freezer big enough to store tubs of ice cream when a really good sale happens.
That was supposed to be a response to post #6. I’m not sure how I posted it to #1... The point is, the making of foolish choices is not a recent phenomenon.
and three references.
Something very wrong if they can’t get sex from someone they already know. It is so dangerous to pick up strangers I see it as being like people that do things like bungie jumping, extreme mountain climbing- that sort of thing. Thrill seekers.
When I was single I wouldn’t even let people fix me up with guys to date, especially not after a friend fixed me up with a guy that ate glass, ate the fire off of people’s cigarettes and neat bar tricks like that to impress me. That date lasted maybe 20 minutes.
Did he sing 'Tuff Enough' to you?
