Pressed by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Tex., during Wednesday testimony before the Senate Judiciary committee, Attorney General Eric Holder declined to offer his apologies to the family of slain border agent Brian Terry.
Under Holder's leadership, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ran Operation Fast and Furious, under which thousands of guns were allowed to "walk" to Mexico, where they wound up in the hands of Mexican drug lords. At least two of the weapons were found at Terry's murder scene.
Today, Politico's Tim Mak reports:
Eric Holder has told the family of slain U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry that he is sorry for the loss of your son, according to a private letter from the Attorney General obtained by POLITICO.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
why is this man still there and why are the DOJ still infested with left wing fringe elements he put there along with bozo the clown obama?
Once he dropped charges against the black racists then he should have been forced out IMHO.
Does he think this will stop him going to jail?
I’m sure the letter was dripping in sincerity.
Obummer must have told the bum to apologize; nah...not Obummer; must have been somebody else with a little more sense. Not doubt they pinched his ear, pulled him over to table, put the letter in front of him, and handed him a pen.
DC talk-show host Chris Plante pointed out that the WH apologized to the parents of the Al-Qaeda partner who was with Awlaki the day our drone killed them.
That might have done it...
It surely is not possible that (oh gag me) Politico is in bed with Eric and the DOJ, is it? That question kind of has a sexual ring to it...right, Politico folks? And you guys know all about how to ring that alarm.
He has always been sorry.
Holder should hide himself under a rock.
Same thought. I deduced it was a reward for work "well done" on Cain.
Sorry for what? Being complicit in the death of someone? Wow. Someones going to the big house or the gallows depending on how this plays out.
As far as I’m concerned the O/H team are accomplices to murder of 200+ Mexican Nationals and two US agents. They should both be in jail.
I have to ask you why you would want to insult the other creatures that have always lived under rocks. They have never deliberately harmed any one except in self defense.
A sorry excuse for scum. I don’t want the law at my door. enough said.
nah never possible that our corrupt media would work with this admin to help them, to cover for them and to work with them.
I honestly hope that if we get full control that we investigate certain media outlets and how they worked with the white house and Dems.
Their bias has really not just pissed me off but many others too and it is high time for the GOP to call them out like Newt has.
“Does he think this will stop him going to jail?”
Who will put him in jail? Certainly not his comrades. And certainly not the lame stream republicans.
Sure, they make a great show of pretending to blister him in these sessions. But, when it comes to filing charges, forget about it. One whimper of disdain from some commie, they’ll take their dog and pony show home.
I hope the next POTUS gets Michael Savage for Press Sec, or Ambassador to Britain at the least!
Can you imagine the strokes it will give the ENEMEDIA.
I think I imagine something like that a lot LOL.
Someone with guts to stand up and take on our bias liberal media.
Ooops, no insult meant to creatures living under rocks. I thought rather that would be a good place to keep Holder out of the sight of the rest of us; of course, any self-respecting under-the-rocks dwellers would leave his vicinity immediately.
No. They should not be in jail. They should have an appointment with a gallows.
“obtained by Politico” = copy sent to Politico from Holder’s office
Holder wasn't sorry when it happened and isn't sorry now. Even when Holder's in prison he'll only be sorry he got caught. Had Terry been black, Holder may have been sorry.
politico? Sure. That’s the ticket.
Yes, he’s sorry - a sorry excuse for a human.
Because hamsters have bigger balls then the republican clowns in Washington.
They're too afraid of what the mean old MSM might say about them if they make too many waves and then they wouldn't get re-elected and get to enjoy all the perks of the ruling class in DC.
We'll see what happens with this but I don't have any confidence that they will hold these criminal liars in the White House and DOJ to any real justice.
A sad day when righteous people don’t want the “law” anywhere near them.
The “law” has been turned on its head.
And, my sorry ass should be thrown in prison until the end of time for causing his death and for allowing the New Black Panthers to take a walk, too. At times, even a commie scum like me has to come clean.
He won’t be “sorry” enough for me until he’s being passed around in Fed Prison like a party favor by a bunch of Aryan Nation types.....
Who is the snake, and who the handler?
It is usually called “Serpent Holder”, which he is.
Yada, yada, yada, whatever. This only makes him look worse, if that’s possible.
An AG that cared anything about the agents under his authority would speak personally (not send a letter) and privately (not make a photo-op out of it) and give his condolences to the family of every agent killed in the line of duty no matter what the circumstances were immediately upon being informed of the death. A responsible AG would know about the death of every and any agent within hours.
If Holder quits, we will get a Holder clone to replace him. If he stays, he is an albatross for Obama in 2012.
One good thing is that the publicity will make it less likely for Obama to put him on the SCOTUS.
