Important New CCHD Watchdog Group -- Better Catholic Giving

WHAT BCG DOES

BETTER CATHOLIC GIVING (BCG) is committed to go beyond important, but limited web-based investigations and just settling for the 'company line' from the CCHD gatekeepers at the USCCB and local (arch)diocesan offices. Their answers haven't sufficed.

Hitting the pavement - The BCG will be paying surprise visits to many of the most questionable CCHD-funded organizations, and report our findings right here at the Better Catholic Giving web site. Whenever possible, we will also seek out people who are 'helped' through these CCHD-funded groups to see if they are really 'breaking the cycle of poverty'.

This is our way to stamp out the accusations national CCHD staffers and CCHD's supporters continue to accuse its critics of, that they simply do internet searches for their findings.

Better Catholic Giving is an urgent response to the ongoing crisis in the American Catholic Church. Please prayerfully consider supporting our efforts with a donation to Better Catholic Giving. Donate here.

Keep our efforts in prayer as we get to the absolute truth about the CCHD.

KEYWORDS: bishops; catholic; cchd; usccb
This organization is run by a former CCHD insider who was fired for trying to make reforms. I believe it has the potential to blow the lid off of the CCHD skulduggery. Please consider donating.

It is pretty obvious that the church has long been in need of an inspector general’s office that actively audits church activities, both religious and secular.

And now that enemies of the church (read “George Soros” and others of his ilk) are actively trying to infiltrate and undermine it, with the open intent to subvert and destroy it, without some church agency in overwatch, the church, its reputation and resources, are at grave risk.

The purpose of the inspector general’s office should not be in correction, but in discovery. Findings of that office should be made clear, with activities being either proscribed or “nihil obstat”, to those in authority to make corrections.

I think the Vatican has an office that’s generally charged with this kind of thing, but it is overwhelmed. Might be wrong.

Anyway, this problem is going to be fixed by grassroots lay people if it gets fixed at all. That’s why I’m excited by the work of American Life League, and now, Better Catholic Giving.

Schmootman, I implore you to keep me on your ping list for this kind of stuff. It is essential. (I have decided to give my ENTIRE Catholic $$ --- little as it is --- to Better Catholic Giving. I am informing my pastor of this.)

Thought you would enjoy the following quote from Thomas Merton, who despite his involvement in the 60's in antiwar and antiwar activism was no leftist. He had this to say in a letter to his friend, the poet Robert Lax:

“I am truly spry and full of fun, but am pursued by the vilifications of progressed Catholics. Mark my word man there is no uglier species on the face of the earth than progressed Catholics, mean, frivol, ungainly, inarticulate, venomous, and bursting at the seams with progress into the secular cities and Teilhardian subways. The Ottavianis was bad but these are infinitely worse. You wait and see.”

I am getting more convinced that we should engage in serious battle against the Marxists in the CCHD. In the most nonviolent possible way. Gotta get my scourge of knotted cords back from the dry-cleaners' and practice flicking it--:o)
