The skirmishes between men and women have changed through the ages in myth, metaphor and reality, and the only constant is that everybody draws from his or her own quiver of possibilities. Herman Cain offers a large and irresistible target of opportunity.
Sharon Bialek took aim at a press conference at the Friar's Club, a rowdy redoubt of sexual innuendo. The 50-year-old blonde with Veronica Lake's peek-a-boo hairdo and a long memory did the morning-after television shows in a low-cut pink blouse. What's fascinating about her accusations is that reactions to them don't break down according to men vs. women, as we might have once expected, but bear on red vs. blue politics. Husbands and wives who belong to the same party view the harassment accusations in similar ways, and the femmes in the media divide according to their political leanings.
Andrea Peyser in the New York Post describes Sharon Bialek as having the breathy giddiness of a gal who's read too many bodice-rippers. Michelle Goldberg hedges her bets in the Daily Beast: I have no way of knowing, obviously, whether Bialek was telling the truth, she writes. I do know that it rings true. She then runs down a litany of examples of women caught unawares in the workplace, seeking help from more powerful older men, and how often its difficult to tell whether a man is offering mentorship or lechery. Really?

But after what must have been years of shyness therapy to conquer her squeamishness, she had no trouble telling millions in a television audience of a hand under her skirt when he asked her, You want a job, right?
Feminist lawyer Gloria Allred says she has taken the case pro bono, but she benefits handsomely from thousands of dollars' worth of free advertising as a harassment lawyer. (Merchants call this taking a loss leader. ) Nor was she reluctant to crack a tasteless joke in trying Herman Cain in the court of public opinion, describing his offense as a personal stimulus package. She would never have spoken that way before a judge. Cain's lawyer was a sobering contrast when he said would never put his clients in the spotlight of television.
No one can excuse authentic sexual harassment that makes a hostile workplace or leads to a woman losing her job when a boss hits on her, but the power balance moves in the women's direction when a mere accusation results in a handsome settlement and more cash and fame in a brief career in show business.

This was followed by post-feminists complaints two decades later that womens liberation only liberated men to delay commitment and marriage to enjoy the flight of Peter Pan to an adolescence extended into adulthood. Jezebel, a popular blog, describes the newest stage as The Rebirth of the Feminist Manifesto. It's an estrogen revolution that defends the Slutwalk, where young women dress like prostitutes in reaction to blaming the victim of abuse for dressing provocatively.
Sharon Bialek insists that the furor over Herman Cain is only about the man who's running for president. It isn't about me, she says. She's quite right. It's about her motives.
Man, I only need to listen to her for one minute to know what she is all about. This is cooked up by someone. I don’t think it is republicans, they know they always get caught.
If bankrupting a great nation and throwing millions out of work does not disqualify a man for seeking a second term, obviously false allegations of being a cad 15 years ago should not disqualify a man for seeking a first.
No, he was too lazy to ask where the strange fruit came from and God directed the Guilty Pair to Leave. There is no indication Adam did it out of love.
God did not give Adam a choice about leaving, he was evicted forcefully.
But the amazing thing is that God did not kill the two on the spot but took an animal and sacrificed it; giving them better clothing than their skimpy covering of fig leaves. That sacrifice is echoed in God calling Abraham to sacrifice Isaac (his only son with Sarah) and providing a ram at the last moment.
And ultimately fulfilled in the sacrifice of God's own Son on the Cross for those who would believe Christ died for their sins.
I wish these writers had some idea of what they were writing about; it might be more enlightening.
Don’t want to get raped or sexually harassed? Dress appropriately and use common sense. Showing up at a bar and drinking till wee hours of the morning is asking for trouble. This is what young women were taught two generations ago to keep out of trouble. Go to NYC bars at night and see how many college educated professional women violate this time tested wisdom.
Men don’t want to be sued for sexual harassment. Act and talk like college educated gentleman. Foul language and locker room behavior in office, sets up a cultural tone. Drinking and acting like a frat boy in after hours sets up a cultural tone. If everyone at work sees you as a drinking, foul mouth locker talking, boasting about how many women you had. Guess what you are not beyond reproach when a female worker accuse you of sexual harassment.
I know many FR libertarians do not like what I am about to say. People of faith understand the virtues of self control. Boozing, drugging, foul mouth and philandering or plain loud boasting of exploits is not self control. If you are a boss and you act like that, your subordinates will act in a similar fashion or condone it. Open yourself and entire company to sexual harassment suits.
Men of power and wealth, beware of all female workers. They may prey on you or you may be tempted by them. Follow all common sense practices. Never be in a room/office alone with them. Never travel alone with them. Never socialize alone with them.
The only thing that changed was who makes the proposition, not who gets the promotion.
If Bialek doesn’t get a book deal, and I don’t think she will, she’ll end up doing porn. No man will want anything to do with her and she’s got to make a living. She can co-star with Amy Fisher.
There is every indication Adam did it out of love for Eve. Eve was deceived. Adam was not. His only motivation for eating of the fruit at that point was to suffer the same fate as Eve. He could not imagine life without her and death would be preferable to separation. He got both. There is no indication Adam was lazy.

As we often see the shadow of the prophetic fulfillment in the first appearance, so also we can glimpse the motivation of the first appearance through the prophetic fulfillment.
In this case, the Second Adam ‘became sin’ so that we (His Bride) might be “the righteousness of God”. (2 Cor 5:21) In that, we can clearly see that Adam also ‘became sin(ful)’ out of love for his bride.
