Michelle to Serve as NASCAR Grand Marshal
http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2011/11/11/michelle-serve-nascar-grand-marshal/ ^

The White House is dispatching Michelle Obama to serve as Grand Marshal of the Nov. 20 season-ending NASCAR Ford 400, a move that seems clearly designed to woo NASCAR voters while also burnishing the first lady’s credentials as a regular gal.

Mrs. Obama, who has incurred some bad publicity for taking luxurious jaunts to South Africa and Spain while often being photographed in expensive clothing and accoutrements, has lately been spotted shopping at Target and hanging out at the baseball park, attending the first game of the World Series.

The NASCAR appearance is billed as part of the first lady’s “Joining Forces” initiative for military families, and Mrs. Obama’s Joining Forces co-chair, “Second Lady” Dr. Jill Biden, will also serve as Grand Marshal.

The Ford 400 is held at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. Florida is perhaps the most critical presidential battleground state in the country.

But Mrs. Obama’s presence at one of the biggest NASCAR events of the year will surely be noticed throughout the region where the sport if popular, which includes many other critical swing states like Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Missouri and Missouri.

Indeed, the “NASCAR vote” has taken a place alongside “soccer moms” as a coveted demographic for presidential candidates.

According to a White House statement, the NASCAR organization will itself participate in the Joining Forces initiative

As part of the season-ending NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship race, NASCAR will rally its millions of fans at the speedway and online to serve military families through the holiday season by asking them to visit www.NASCAR.com/Unites and JoiningForces.gov to find service opportunities and ideas to give back to those who serve our country.

The crowd at the Ford 400 will include some 5,000 active duty and retired military personnel, according to the White House. Military families will get a BBQ lunch where Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden will deliver remarks, along with NASCAR officials and drivers.

Kinda makes you want to throw up in your mouth. Funny how they are now trying to get their vote but the way our troops were treated when serving over in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“What sticker is she going to have on her fat bumper?”

The same one as always - black and yellow diagonal stripes with the words “Extra Wide.”

Classiest and best response would be for NASCAR fans to take that day off en masse. Just don’t do it! How funny would it be if it was unavoidably obvious that no one wants her pretending.

Last year, the Wookie made an appeal to black skiers on the slopes of Aspen. This year NASCAR and black race drivers.

We never actually saw her skiing, just dressing up and playing make believe.

Five NASCAR Drivers Decline President Obama’s White House Invitation

President Barack Obama will honor NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and the 11 other Chase drivers from last year in a White House ceremony on Wednesday – but nearly half of the 2010 playoff contenders won’t be there.

NASCAR said Thursday that five drivers – Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart – will not be attending the White House visit due to “schedule conflicts.”

Obama has never watched a NASCAR race in his life. He openly despises and mocks the very people who are NASCAR fans. If you want to be surrounded by Bible & Gun Clinging, red-blooded patriotic Americans, get your ass down to the oval track on Sunday. Again…not Obama’s kind of people.

Can you imagine Obama sitting in the stands at Talladega, with a Juan Pablo Montoya (you know, you just know if Obama was a NASCAR fan, he’d be Montoya fan) t-shirt and a 16 oz plastic cup full of warm Natural Light cheering as the cars screamed around the track?

Nope…neither can I.

Jeff Gluck at SB Nation has hit little girl panties in a twist over their dismissal of Obama’s invite:

Will Obozo loan her a telepromter so she doesn’t screw up “Gentlemen, start your engines!”

She will be on the helicopter before the first lap.

If NASCAR does this, they are not mostly conservatives anymore.

Please don’t use the Penn State mentality.

NASCAR might want to revisit that decision less nobody shows up for the race. You don’t insult the Hatfield and the McCoys.

Jimmie Johnson, other NASCAR drivers meet with President Obama

WASHINGTON — Comparing himself to a racecar driver, President Barack Obama honored Jimmie Johnson and seven other NASCAR drivers Wednesday for their performance on and off the track. Johnson has won an unprecedented five consecutive Chase for the Sprint Cup championship titles.

The president also thanked NASCAR for supporting military families.

Jimmie Johnson gives President Obama the gloves he wore while winning the 2010 Sprint Cup race at Las Vegas.

NASCAR is a sport where anything that can go wrong will go wrong at some point during the season, similar to being president,” Obama said at a brief White House appearance that was forced indoors because of rain.

I hate to see NASCAR drivers lowering them selves to Obama’s level. I’d rather meet a baboon!

At least a baboon doesn’t try to impose his inept will on others.

Why does obama have to bring himself into every conversation, because he thinks it’s all about him...enough already!
