I hope it doesn't happen to any greater extent than it already has... But if they are going to crank things up from where they currently stand, I would hope that it would be after the elections take place. I'm sure Obama would just love to exerecise his power under the unconstitutional (but non-the-less, existent) Presidential Directive 51/Homeland Security Directive 29. He could decide that elections would disrupt the ability of government to address the problems created by an increase in attacks, and thus declare himself president until the threat or emergency no longer existed.
Although he was better than the two alternatives we were given, Bush did a lot of things I hated, PD51/HSD29 being one of the top 3...
