Mr. Bennett, who also represented her in that case, refused to comment on it, but questioned its significance, noting that in court cases generally, “If you file a complaint against employer X, and filed a complaint five years ago against employer Y, that’s not considered relevant.”

So since it's been more than five years since BIALEK filed a complaint, I guess HER case is no longer relevant???

Unfortunately our legal system encourages payments. Prosecutors do it all the time, by getting defendants to plead to lessor charges to avoid trial and the risk of longer sentences; and the defendants agree to that because even if they aren't guilty, there's a big risk - and monetary cost - of going to a jury trial.

I have been involved in numerous illegitimate claims of negligence that my company has negotiated settlements for, just to avoid the expense of going to trial. One in particular, we settled for $13,333.33 and we had exactly $0 culpability. But we settled to avoid going to court. And the cost for the attorneys during the long multi-year process ended up costing a total, including the settlement agreement, of about $50,000. So nobody can convince me that just because an organization paid out costs for a claim, that it is evidence of guilt, because it d@mned sure is not!

Sexual harrassment claims are most often he says / she says. And sometimes women (or men) encourage flirtatious behavior until it goes too far. And when it goes too far they act as if they're a completely innocent party... when all along they may have actually encouraged it up to a point. These types of women (or men) are nothing more than predators - exploiting the weaknesses of the gullible, and taking advantage of our legal system.

When charges against you are are spurious, unprovable, unverifiable the only answer is to go on offense. Cain’s doing that - and doing it well.

He will re-raise these liberal bet and they will fold like the cheap suits they are.

“Keeping her own low profile on Wednesday, Ms. Kraushaar said in a brief statement to The New York Times, “Anyone should be able to report allegations of sexual harassment without fear that their lives and careers will be put on public display and laid open to public scrutiny.”

This hairy legged twat-twit is really an ignorant leftist. Hoping she can say anything she wants without her background being checked or being cross examined shows her true idiocy. Soon, leftists are going to learn about boomerangs.

I agree with you - there must be a whole bunch of blackmailed congresspeople - or ones who are simply afraid of the smear machine.

Far as I’m concerned Sarah should be the front runner but I suspect she was threatened to the point she couldn’t ignore the safety of her family.

It feels like the tail end of the Roman Republic: there's so much money and power on the line, that anyone who threatens the status quo does so at great risk.

I’ve always thought that women who make false claims of rape or sexual harrassment should face prison time equal to the amount of time THEIR victims would face as well as be sued and hounded to the ends of the earth.

I think it's past time that sexual harassment was repealed as a legal offense. Charges seem to be abused too much.

I tried posting this on the NY Times comments, but of course they didn't put it up:

It amazes me how liberals lie to themselves and everyone else. Many liberals, including the NY Times, claim to be outraged by this story but had no problem when their white Democratic leader, Bill Clinton, set out to destroy the many women who accused him of sexual exposure, sexual assault, and rape like Paula Jones, Kathleen Willie, Juanita Broaddrick, Elizabeth Ward Gracen, and at least one unnamed accuser. Bill Clinton sent his thug James Carville to destroy the reputations of these women in the media, Bill Clinton had a “Bimbo Eruption Unit” to bribe and threaten these women along with women he used for sex like Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on these women, and the IRS audited these women. Many of the liberals who are feigning OUTRAGE didn't care. In fact many liberals on the comment section of the NY Times article along with the NY Times itself, relished the attacks on these women making Clinton and Carville heroes. The partisan liberal "news" outlet CNN even gave Carville a job as a commentator. The liberal Democratic media machine, lead by the NY Times, either attacked these women or ignored these women. Now liberals, including the NY Times, who are pretending these women accusing Cain are instantly credible just because there are five of them, expect a black Republican, Cain, not to defend himself and go quietly to his own high-tech lynching. These same liberals dismissed the fact that there were at least five women who accused Bill Clinton of abuse, and four of these women came forward with specific allegations which were more horrifying than anything of which Cain has been accused. Now liberals, including the NY Times and their liberal readers, are claiming to care so much about abused women that Cain should just sacrifice himself, even though all they wanted to do was destroy all the women who accused Clinton.

It has already been repealed for Democratic leaders like Bill Clinton.
