Cain’s Lawyer on Accusing: ‘Think Twice’
NYTimes ^ | 11/9/2011 | JIM RUTENBERG

Posted on 11/11/2011 10:46:32 AM PST by RoosterRedux

L. Lin Wood, the lawyer hired by the Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain to fend off sexual harassment accusations, has warned that any other women who might be considering coming forward with similar allegations “should think twice.”

-snip-

Mr. Cain’s campaign said that Mr. Wood’s services included not only legal representation, but also a research team, and that it had hired another crisis management public relations expert, though it declined to name this person.

Speaking with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Mr. Wood, who is based in Atlanta, said Mr. Cain would consider legal action against other accusers, though he did not announce any actual plans to do so.

Maybe just [the] one that they can’t find anything on...

I swear, when these guys go to Congress, etc, they get “introduced” to the ruling clique who threatens them with exposure of XYZ if they don’t “play ball”.

I think this is the smart thing to do. He’s got to fight back. He can’t afford to lie down, roll over, and pay then each $45,000 just to shut up and go away.

And, by the way, it was the NRA that decided to handle it that way earlier, not Caine. Although given our corrupt court and tort system, it was the sensible thing to do—back then. Get rid of these incompetent trouble makers quickly and for a relatively low cost.

Good for Cain for fighting back and showing the MSM their power is waning.

Cain is going to make it tough for the Libs to derail his train.

And fights back hard. I doubt seriously there will be more allegations, although I am sure they were planned. Wood is not to be messed with, he is very good at what he does and has a reputation to keep. Cain hit a grand slam by hiring him.

And the warning to false accusers goes doubly for the MSM. Defame or libel Herman...and you will pay!

Or more like: "Here's the deal: as long as you play ball you can sleep with whoever you want (like Kennedy and the rest did), and you can use inside information to make your stock portfolio look great. Cross us, and you will be destroyed."

Ms. Kraushaar said in a brief statement to The New York Times, “Anyone should be able to report allegations of sexual harassment without fear that their lives and careers will be put on public display and laid open to public scrutiny.”

That is forfeited as soon as you accept money from a 3rd party without requiring admission of guilt.

“Cain hit a grand slam by hiring him.”

Why yes, yes he did. Makes one giddy to envision the kind of people President Cain might surround himself with in his forthcoming administration. Tough, smart, no-nonsense.... I like it.

You’re right about not rolling over to these lies. Bush and too many “republicans” have done this and it has emboldened the democrat party to pour it on in every race. What is driving them wild this time is that Cain IS fighting back and calling them for the liars they are.

Go Cain!

(Ms. Bialek has said she is not seeking money to tell her story, though she has not ruled out a book at some point.)

I wouldn't be surprised if she decides to pose nude for an "adult" magazine someday.

I was once in an organization with a toxic culture that went like this:
If they like you, they will cover up your goofs.

If they don't like you, any goof gets broadcast.

If they really don't like you, they will make stuff up to accuse you of.

This reminds me of Hillary’s words during the Clinton administration. “This will teach them not to f*&# with us.”
From a tactical standpoint, she was right.

Both women accusers of Herman Cain that have spokent out publicly are “dirty” and will be found to be connected and prompted by the “Obama Team”!!! I know the game, so....Mr. Wood is digging and these women are toast. I suspect, the other accusers will now go back into the foggy world they were birthed from!!! It is really sad that such outwardly, female trash is paraded about by the Obama team, because, poor, decent, honest women that really get abused, do not stand a fair chance for an unbiased hearing and lawful action because of these, low life, dirt bag, Democrat dregs!!! Major thanks to the Satans, Gloria Allred, POTUS Barack Hussein Obama, David Axelrod and the entire ilk of Obama Devils!!! Shame!!!

I agree with you - there must be a whole bunch of blackmailed congresspeople - or ones who are simply afraid of the smear machine.

Far as I’m concerned Sarah should be the front runner but I suspect she was threatened to the point she couldn’t ignore the safety of her family.
