I was a huge PSU fan as are many here in the Philly region. I can assure you, most of us are indeed sickened and disgusted just as most decent folks should be. The Paterno legacy is now about a Creep who molested children and a bunch of morally corrupt cowards that failed to stop it. IMHO, one of our fellow Freepers (Rintense) said it best in one of the earlier threads on this topic:

“End PSUs season now. Let the players transfer to any school they want with no penalty of sitting out. Fire every single football staff member. Fire campus security. Gut the AD department and the entire administrative staff. And burn the football facilities to the ground.
Start over from scratch.”

By that logic, since it was the university administration that covered this up not one, but twice, All of Penn State should be burned to the ground.

One of the schools administrators (may have been the interim president) when asked by ESPN if PedState should accept a bowl bid if offered said yes, this is not the fault of the current players.

Penn State, class of ‘65 alum. I agree. In the old days wounds were cauterized by fire. Seems apt to me. Though I would include State College police, PA State Police and the PA attorney General in the funeral pyre.

I’m so ashamed of my Alma Mater. My heart goes out to all the vulnerable kids who were abused.
