A young reporter went to the Occupy Portland camp and found lots of anger but not much more. The occupants of the camp itself were, he found, less than impressive. It's a good piece, no matter your politics. Check it out.
The police are supposed to be kicking them out at 12:01 a.m. tonight. Time to break out the popcorn!
Gotta make it public, dude.
Maybe it’s just me...but the link does not feature the article.
Something about “create a blog”.
Same here.
Pimp my blog?

This is actually a good bit of reporting. The writer went in with an objective, to learn what the occupiers thought and wanted. He found out, as us old timers know from covering demonstrations since the 1970’s, that they didn’t know what they wanted, what they thought, and what kind of change would replace the status quo.
The Occupy movement started out with a lot of liberal and leftist hype, and then collapsed into a trash heap of ignorance, selfishness, drugs, petty bickering, marxist ideological psychobabble, etc.
The anarchists at least carried out some organized acts of violence, the only time you’ll ever see anarchists “organized.” However, they basically failed to ignite a revolution. Hardly ignited any fires, except in the anger of the small businessmen and women whose businesses they looted and damaged. Thanks for recruiting for our side, guys!
The presence of hardcodre communist organizers and some Black Bloc anarchists failed so far, and it may be to a point now that they will never be able to gain any sizable or believable momentum, even with Michael Moore coming down to see them in New York (More like a curse to have Moore).
Well, back to reading FR. Lots of goodies on it tonight.
Till the next revolution.
PS: I’m still locked and loaded, and that ain’t with alcohol.
