'Debt crisis like fat people blaming bakers' (Gene Simmons)
The Sun (UK) ^ | 11 Nov 2011 | GENE SIMMONS

Posted on 11/13/2011 11:21:25 AM PST by markomalley

THE first thing I would do if I was the benevolent dictator of planet Earth would be to fire all politicians — who are basically university lecturers in positions of power.

They might be able to quote the existential philosophers but that doesn't mean they know how to run businesses.

Countries are businesses — they have imports and exports and you want your exports to be higher than your imports so you can have a profit.

You want to make sure that whatever money you give out to your population is money that you can afford to send out.

Countries are a house of cards — and when the bottom few cards fall down they all topple over. Look at Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Italy.

If businessmen ran the country, this wouldn't happen. Richard Branson would make a great PM. He's more qualified.

Government makes money by taxing and spending.

It's so simple. If you spend more than you tax, you're out of business. MPs don't know what they're talking about.

And we created this miserable economic state. It's like fat people who think it's the bakery's fault they got fat.

No, you kept going in there and you kept eating cake. It's not the bakery's responsibility to tell you to slow down.

I LOVE THIS GUY!!!

The best audio clip in the world is where some liberal NPR host tries to bawl him out for his history with having many girlfriends, and he completely destroys her, but NICELY, somehow.

He’s giggling and says a whole string of really devastating things to her, and she has no idea how to respond cuz all her past guests were apparently in awe of her.

Some fat people (or at least some mass tort lawyers, purporting to represent the mass enhanced) are trying to blame the baker (AKA, any fast-food chain with deep pockets).

His great audio clip:

She’s harassing him, and he stays totally calm. And then he just destroys her.

She’s a really snooty feminist.

Gene should stick to what he knows. Exports and imports are usually a small fraction of an economy. Deficits can easily be offset and even exceeded by internal growth.

I’m sure that the NPR lady is a snooty feminist. However, Gene Simmons’ view that monogamy is ‘not biological’ and that this somehow justifies a promiscuous lifestyle is diametrically opposed to everything I consider the core principles of conservatism. Man can be much more than biology and the institution of monogamous marriage was established primarily to channel both male and female sexuality into something which builds and maintains society. The western world is on a path of demographical suicide partly due to the glorification of a lifestyles of which Simmons is one representative.

The trouble with modern society is that everything is reduced to short-term emotional gratification.

I’ll have to download the clip.

I just loooove it when an interviewee refuses to kiss the interviewers ass. They get so totally discombobulated it’s great.

Conservatives should do this more often, including conservative politicians. You don’t score brownie points with your public by making nicey-nice with an interviewer who is clearly hostile and out to get you. Even your enemies will feel a bit of respect.

It helps if you’ve seen his reality show. Gene makes clear how traumatized he was growing up dirt poor and hungry AND being abandoned by his father. Money-grubbing and skirt-chasing are a frequent by-product.

He also enjoys life and pokes fun at himself. If Terry Gross really wanted to cheese him off she’d mention the accusation that he stole his look from Alice Cooper

John Lennon grew up much the same way. He was also success-obsessed (early on) and he was one ANGRY SOB. You should pull up a couple of his interviews.

I don’t take advice from sex crazed perverts who brag about sleeping with over 2000 women, with the average age of them being 13.

He was a freaking public school teacher before he became a maggot. WHere do you think the lyrics to “Christine, 16” come from. Gene’s own personal perverted experience.

Don’t get too excited. I’m pretty sure I read Gene voted for Obama. But he does support the troops in a big way.

I think that a big part of this was his drinking. He was a really bad, ugly drunk, and some of his worst years he spent drunk, often with Harry Nielson. While I don't care for Yoko's "art," one thing she did right was kick John out when his drinking got too bad. He eventually straitened himself out. He spent a few good years, and then was murdered.

The saintly John legend was built around the fact that he dressed like a hippy, wrote and sang a number of songs that became hippy anthems. He could look serene for the camera and indulged in all the right causes.

Though we now know that, just before he was gunned down, he was growing out of all that fashionable leftism. He might be more conservative and free market than Gene Simmons or John Lydon if he were still alive.

Bob Dylan never allowed his art to be hijacked. He was no Lefty, just kept his politics private.
