One person is dead and two are wounded in three shootings police investigated today.

It’s too early to tell if the shootings were related, police said.

Andre Kelly, the city’s 30th homicide victim of the year, was found dead of a gunshot wound by a friend on the first floor of a multi-story building at 536 Whalley Avenue. No further information was available about Kelly, whose body was found at about 7:20 p.m.

Police officer David Hartman, spokesman for the department, said the apartment that Kelly was found in is located at the rear of a building that includes a barber shop on the first floor.

Hartman said nobody in the neighborhood reported hearing any gunshots around the time the body was found.

Kelly’s death capped off a day of shootings that began for investigators in the department at about 3 p.m. That’s when officers were contacted by officials at Yale-New Haven Hospital about a 17-year-old boy who turned up in the emergency room sometime around 3 p.m. to get treatment for a gunshot wound to his left leg, Hartman said. Further investigation determined that the shooting occurred near the intersection Shelton Avenue and Read Street, he said.

Even as police were investigating the first shooting, officers responded to reports of gunfire near 90 Shelton Ave. at around 5:25 p.m., he said.

New Heinous and the surrounding towns need to be flushed into the sound, preferably when Rose DeLauro is back for a district visit.

There are only two reasons to ever go to New Haven. One is Frank Pepe’s Pizzaria and the other is Sally’s Apizza. There you go.
