After months of campaigning, Mitt Romney still appears poised to win a plurality and claim the Republican nomination for election to the Executive Office in 2012. If his numbers hold up in polling against the incumbent president, then Teflon Mitt will almost certainly win a majority of the national vote and send Democrats packing from the White House. But more than likely, Governor Romney will last only a single term in office, just like his predecessor. History would suggest Romneys victory more or less ensures a second term, yet two factor blocs are in store to prevent that scenario from playing out. For one, Romney has no principles that can be depended upon. Given the similar track record of George W. Bush on spending issues, it seems unlikely that a pseudoconservative like Romney will be able to recapture the Tea Party vote in 2016 which is so desperately needed for triumph on the center-right unless he can be libertine in his cuts to the budget, something uncharacteristic of the Massachusetts native.

Romney vrs Andrew Cuomo looks pretty bad
I don’t care what Martin O’Malley thinks, he aint getting any traction outside the People’s Republic of Maryland
And there’s always the scary possibility that if Romney lays a big egg and 2012 turns out to be a close election, that Obama might be popular enough to return back in 2016, which is pretty scary.
If this happens and Romney is our nominee, I’ll stay home on election day, all day. Maybe you should too.
If Romney is our nominee, I’ll do a protest vote - vote for a third party or something.
I hope to God he’s not our nominee.
Hey, there are important Senate, House, Governor, and other races going on that are important and have good people running. Don’t take it out on them. Leave the POTUS blank or write-in, but don’t let the other true conservatives down.

I’ll still vote...but will leave the presidential row unchecked.
Recapture? How can he recapture a vote in 2016 when he won't capture the Tea Party vote in 2012?
I think that a President Romney would lose the Congress for the republicans in 2016 as George Bush did with his own socialist proffligacy and would soar as a real out-of-the-closet Socialist with the Democratic Socialist Congress he would then have. I do DO NOT think the Democrats will shed their Communists if Romney is the president. They will know they have another shot and there will be no reversing of their kenyan socialist advances and some augmentation by Romney so the situation will be totally ripe for a final takeover, especially after Romney gives them Amnesty for illegals and a short path to citizenship and the Socialist Vote.
