(CNSNews.com) President Barack Obama told a group of CEOs and political leaders at the APEC summit in Hawaii this past weekend that America has been a little bit lazy in promoting foreign investment.
Its important to remember that the United States is still the largest recipient of foreign investment in the world, and there are a lot of things that make foreign investors see the U.S. as a great opportunity -- our stability, our openness, our innovative free market culture.
But weve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades, Obama added. Weve kind of taken for granted Well, people will want to come here -- and we arent out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America.
Obama also blamed bureaucracy for deterring foreign investment: Because of our federalist system, sometimes a foreign investor comes in and theyve got to navigate not only federal rules, but theyve also got to navigate state and local governments that may have their own sets of interests.
Obama mentioned that his administration has set up a Web site called SelectUSA to make it easier for foreign investors to build plants in this country and put outstanding U.S. workers back to work in the United States of America.
SelectUSA seeks to highlight the advantages the United States offers as a location for business and investment. Among other things, it explains the various business incentives offered by each state and territory.
We think that we can do much better than were doing right now, Obama continued.
Being able to create if not a one-stop shop, then at least no more than a couple of stops for people to be able to come into the United States and make investments -- thats something that we want to encourage.
What a load of CRAP! As this bigshot attends a summit to create MORE free trade agreements enriching Asia and FURTHER impoverishing America, while he passes presidential directives ordering ICE not to deport illegals he has the GALL to call Americans that cannot compete in a global marketplace against countries that pay wages an American cannot live on, that dump products on the American market that American companies cannot compete with-BECAUSE an American cannot live on $80 US a MONTH, that REFUSE to invest in the American market unprotected from slave labor and inferior labor practices by tariffs-LAZY???? He should be in prison for treason. Globalists should be lined up in front of the White House and shot as traitors.
I thought it was caused by ATMs!!!!
Isn’t this ba$tard something. This filthy puke has insulted all the hard working company owners, their workers, and their families that are trying to get by regardless of this asshat’s damning destruction of our economy. What a piece of garbage!
What foreign investor wants to fight with the union crooks every couple of years????

I have a GREAT idea! Let’s attract a Canadian oil pipeline. Oh wait. Never mind.
What a load of crap!
The American workforce is the most productive and innovative in the entire world.
It isn’t lack of talent and hard work in America that has curtailed foreign investment in or relocation to these United States - it is that we have a full time cadre of civil “servants” thinking of new and innovative ways to curtail productivity for all but the politically connected.
Cut the corporate tax rate to the bone and let’s see how ‘undesirable’ America becomes-President Economic Illiterate.
Maybe he’s right, at least about the Senate. If they weren’t so “lazy” they’d have impeached him by now.
This needs to be replayed over, and over, and over..... during the 2012 Election. “Hey America, your President tells the world you’re lazy.”
This guy really isn’t an American, he is a statist.
There’s only one problem, albeit a very serious one.
Where is the huge industrial base that I, and millions of others, grow up with and then into?
Thanks to an oppressive, evil, humongous central socialist government that has grown over the decades, this base has been destroyed...on purpose!
Remember the mantra about America becoming a ‘service-oriented economy? That was NAFTA and WTC crap. Our bottom feeding unions continued to expand with government workers and ‘service’ workers.
America is supposed to fold into the New World Order without a whimper. Our nation’s economy is supposed to die an ignominious death. No flowers, no ceremony. In one decade our nation gasps and ‘voila’ in the other wakes up as a slave to world socialism!
Long past time to dump Obozo and the rest of the traitorous running dogs of communism and muslimism!
They’re too damned busy reflecting upon their anuses!
And which party is most repsonsible for creating this bureaucracy, TOTUS? What a dumba$$!
This MF needs to look in the mirror if he needs a definition of lazy. One of my biggest fears is that he’s going to wear out AF1, both of them, trying to avoid really being president.
Oh I don’t know, Barry. Maybe the investing world got wind of YOU scrooing the GM bondholders - outright illegally - just so you could reward your union buddies. Stuff like that kinda puts a damper on investing.
Didn’t they teach you that in community organization class?
Bloated Unions and government regulations have made our manufacturing less competitive - but we still have the creation of and manufacturing of innovative new products taking place in these United States.
The problem with “service oriented” is who are they going to eventually serve? We cannot all just run cash registers and take orders - some of us at some point need to earn that cash and make the products people are ordering.
My point is that the problem is not the morale or work ethic of the American worker - it is the rampant busy body regulations churned out by the nonproductive segment of our society - and their tendency to favor the well connected - who often help WRITE such legislation/regulation - or gain an exemption from it.
