Protesters hope to shut down New York's Wall Street

(Reuters) - Protesters hope to shut down Wall Street on Thursday -- home to the New York Stock Exchange -- by holding a street carnival to mark the two-month anniversary of their campaign against economic inequality.

Protest organizers acknowledged that the "day of action" could be the group's most provocative yet, and could lead to mass arrests and further strain relations with city authorities.

"I think we're certainly going into this with our eyes wide open, but (the march is) to provoke ideas and discussion, not to provoke any violent reactions," said Occupy Wall Street spokesman Ed Needham.

"I think it is very difficult to do a day of action and not expect some sort of reaction from the (authorities)," he said.

It is bigger than just this.

NEW YORK – Watch out New York City. The Occupy anti-capitalist movement is preparing to serve a three-course meal of so-called direct action that apparently includes the blocking of subways and bridges as well as shutting down the stock market.

The attempt to cause mass chaos, slated for Thursday, is tied to the Tides Center, the George Soros-financed group that funds far-left causes. Tides grantees have been helping to direct Occupy from the onset of the anti-Wall Street movement.

Occupy Wall Street is currently holding “Direct Action Preparation and Training” courses today and tomorrow in downtown Manhattan to gear up for Thursday’s round of riots.

The Occupy site announces: “Action Preparation & Training for November 17th, November 30th and Beyond.”

Wonder how Bloomberg will react when one of the occupiers ends up on the tracks in front of a train.

These donks are turning into terrorists. Time to treat them as such before they spread into neighborhoods around the country.

They aren’t coming way the hell out here to my house, they’re going to your 6 figure and up suburban neighborhood.

Actually, I think they are right where they belong ... in the liberal/progressive pits of the country. If you live in one of these pits and you are not a liberal/progressive then consider yourself to be collateral damage which they can easily dismiss as necessary for the cause.

Yep, nice and quiet in my neck of the woods and wouldn't be tolerated around here.

Donk is my favorite bad word for people I despise.

It is also used in poker.

Well good luck OWS, New Yorkers have weathered every possible obstruction from black out to 9/11 - we know how to behave, we just keep going and will move right around you- OWS may be surprised by how New Yorkers will smile and nod and dismiss this and keep right on going- that’s what we do.

No idea how Bloomberg will react. As for me, I will be cheering if these vermin get themselves run over by trains. I consider these occupypublicparks worms 5th columnists and if they want to win darwin awards offing themselves, I say more power to them.

Well, I do call them donks because I do despise them but that’s a nice way of dealing with my emotions.

Dissidents could dissappear easily in such a setting...

They might find camping out is not just a walk in the park.

Winter is coming and I suspect many of the protesters will become unenthused.

Clueless and uncomfortable=retreat
