Until they saw it written in their scripts neither did any of the multi interrogators. They were foaming at the mouth in delight. They asked him what he thought of the President's handling of one of the most significant foreign policy events of the past year. The Libya situation is not something only a career politician would know about, it's something anyone who has been paying attention to current events should know about, and certainly anyone who aspires to become commander in chief. And you're arguing that asking that question is "overt evil"?!
